SalonQP 2014: An Ever-Personal Encounter With The World Of Horology
2014 marked?my second attendance, and more importantly, the sixth edition?of the British watch exhibition called SalonQP, held at the Saatchi Gallery in London. Last year, in my comprehensive article about the event, I?referred to it as a "most personal exhibition of fine watches, remarkable brands and astoundingly difficult crafts," and I was curious to see how things had evolved from one year to the next. MB&F HM5 CarbonMacrolon Watch
MB&F has a rule that they can't do anything like other brands - a policy that, for the most part, they are pretty good at sticking to. With this newest and third iteration of the Horological Machine No. 5 (HM5), they created a black-cased watch, not with a black coating over metal, but with a novel material they like to call "CarbonMacrolon." Thus, we have a dark version of the 1970s sports car inspired "driver's watch," paired with cool purple accents.The HM5 (reviewed here) is one of my favorite Horological Machines. In addition to being amongst the most affordable (really not saying much), it is also amongst the most wearable. A driver's watch, in the traditional sense, allowed the wearer to read the time at a glance from the side of their watch, with their hands on a steering wheel. ROC Strap
Ok, all of your feedback has encouraged me to get a strap option. But now which one do I get? I really like both, but think the rubber might be a little too sporty for the dial, but also think the croc may be a little too dressy looking.

Gents,Looking to purchase a brand new omega Speedmaster. I certainly want an automatic, but not sure exactly what model to go with. I love the traditional white and black on stainless. I do not want the manual. But want that traditional look. Thoughts? Please include pictures if you can!Thank you.
