Itay Noy DiaLOG Watch
For 2012 Israeli watch maker Itay Noy does it again with an interesting timepiece design that both intrigues and confuses a bit. It is called the DiaLOG watch and according to the brand offers more than one way of reading the time (it took me a little while to find just one of them). I have to say that in the scheme of busy and confusing dials, this is one of the most attractive ones out there! The case design of the DiaLOG is carried over from models such as the X-Ray from last year. The dial is what is new - as well as the crown. Itay Noy increased the size of the crown to better accommodate winding the manually-wound Swiss ETA Unitas 6498-1 mechanical movement. The movement offers the time with subsidiary seconds and should be visible through a sapphire crystal display?on the back of the watch. For the dial, Itay Noy designed a five layer design that has discs instead of hands and a series of colors and levels. There will actually be four distinct DiaLOG watch versions - each with a d
Still in love
I've had my 15202 a couple of months now... And I'm still as happy as I was day oneI really hope this continues to be the case, because I have flipped thru a lot of watches. But the feel I get from putting it on, staring at, and just owning it is unlike any otherThe closest I've got to this level of satisfaction was probably from my first rolex. It was a monumental experience and owning one after coveting for so long, was amazing. Somehow after perhaps working through a dozen or more watches, including some fairly elusive pieces, this one - hits the sweet spot, again...
Panerai 233 on a green canvas strap
Just taking delivery of my green canvas strap from time connection. Will see how my 233 likes the new shoes. Still love the storm grey from toshi straps. The leather is so soft and supple on that one. This strap feels a little stiff at the moment so am hoping it will loosen up after a few wears.
Yachtmaster 2 in Stainless or Two tone, whats your pick
I am looking to purchase a new Yachtmaster 2. I can't decide between the all stainless model or the stainless and gold two tone.I know its personal preference, but I am trying to get a general idea of which one is more popular. I wont wear it to beat around. But more to snap on for nice occasions etc. I have seen a stainless in person but not the two tone! Thank You
Why Rolex, again?
So I'm at a restaurant with a group of friends who haven't seen each other in a while. The guy next to me remarks on how much he likes the watch worn opposite me, a big black quartz Diesel. They admire it for a bit, and move on. Nobody, including me, mentions the 2017 SS DJ I'm wearing in full view, which I didn't mind at all.Given that my watch probably was worth more than all the others at the table combined, and it got no attention when the topic of watches was raised, you might wonder why spend all that on Rolex? Many have said on TRF that they're not interested in the attention of others, but wear their Rolex for personal satisfaction. Here are some of my reasons:-- I like the history of the brand and of the DJ-- I enjoy the amazing engineering excellence making a chronometer this accurate-- For a daily wearer I want chronometer accuracy-- I wore quartz for many years but much prefer automatic sweep second hand and no battery replacement-- water resistance and the date are importan
