HERMeS Slim dHermes
Hermes C Slim d’HermesTime alone can turn a watch into an icon, make it holy and give it pride of place in people's hearts. Unveiled in 2015, the Slim d’Hermes has the potential to be a future icon as it oozes perfection. Its lines are smooth and sophisticated, its curves are all in the right places.Hermes is bringing us two new dial colours this year: slate grey and slightly petrol blue. The dial still has visual balance over three levels and features curvy font designed by Philippe Apeloig laid in silver on a ring, a central disc with rhodium-plated baton-shape hands and a second disc for the small seconds at 6.As the name suggests, the Slim d’Hermes case is svelte. Its 39.5mm size houses the super-slim self-winding H1950 calibre which brings to life the time functions and 42-hour power reservePrice: 6,400 CHFBy Sharmila Bertinhermes
Brand new Patek Aquanaut bezel defect
Dear all, I have come to realize that my 2 week old brand new 5164R has 2 defects on the bezel. One at 7 o'clock and one at 11 o'clock. The angle between the brushed plateau and the 45 degreed angle joining the satined polished facade seems to have been over polished by the watchmaker. I can't seem to take proper pictures to show but in bright light, you can see the deformation. I purchased it at a German official Patek retailer not far from Dusseldorf, it was a sealed piece and was opened before my eyes. I didn't realize this until a few days ago, when the light shining at those 2 spots caught my attention and upon examining with a loupe, I confirm the 2 overpolished, or rather looks like dented corners at 7 and 11 positions. The trouble spots are not big but they sure are defects. I cannot believe it passed Patek's quality control department. Now I am left questioning what to do about it.Anyone had similar experiences?Thank youSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Kinds of Patek collectors
1) Collects Sport Pateks only2) Collects Both Sport/Dressy Pateks3) Collects Dressy Pateks only4) Collects the horological complications regardless of styleI consider myself to be in 2). Because it makes sense, to have watches for different occasions. Lately I am inclining more to 1); on the premise that I wear suit once a year and there is always more opportunities in my lifestyle to wear a Sport watch than a dressy one.I used to be in 4) in the past, It was all about the movement and intrinsic value of the mechanical achievement, justifying how useful a GMT, calendars , etc could be.I guess I been in all categories except 3)Do you guys notice this patterns ?I just thought it's interesting to know style/prefrence trends.Note: I guess this could be applied to all brands, but we are in the Patek forum after all
Please give me your views on the 5127....
I have loved the design of this piece for along time.Recently, I have been looking at getting one.The photos that I have seen made me lean more towards one in R/G, what are your individual thoughts? I have spoken with 4 UK AD's two of whom have the model in stock, one of the dealers advised me that the 5127 in R/G was currently a particular difficult model to get. What do you think? The AD told me that the 5127 was perhaps the best Patek to wear as a daily wearer, due to the advantages of having the protective shoulders, screw in crown & case back. Please give me your thoughts and include as many different photos that you can. Regards Tony
526 Regatta?
what does everyone think of the Pam 526? I really like the dial and was surprised that it wore comfortably because of the titanium and the rubber strap. I know it's a watch that doesn't exhibit the classic Panerai characteristics and it's quite costly. Is it a strong seller? How is the movement's reliability? Any owners here? Thanks in advance.
