Samsung Gear S Introduces Curved Screens To Smartwatches
Announced today, the Samsung Gear S smartwatch heralds in a few additional features and specs to the Korean electronic giant's quickly growing smartwatch collection of products. Samsung has taken a decidedly "un-Apple-like" approach to their development of smartwatches by releasing pretty much every iteration of their smartwatch products in fast succession, versus waiting and tweaking until they have what they feel is "just right." The approach has helped Samsung gain a lot of notoriety for being first in a lot of categories, but reviews and media response to their smartwatches are lukewarm at best in many instances. On the plus side, each new connected watch that Samsung releases appears to be an improvement on the last generation. Samsung's latest watch is the Gear S, which is due out in October 2014, and on the surface, it looks like a dream product. The laundry list of features and promises is impressive, but we will see if Samsung can deliver on its new uber-smart watch when it com
Bring a Loupe: A Submariner You Probably Haven't Seen Before, An Enicar You Likely Did Not Know, And A Heuer Autavia You Absolutely Should Not Buy
This week's Bring A Loupe will cover rare and attractive watches, available right now on eBay and at upcoming European auctions. Among our picks, you should not miss one of the rarest Tudor Submariners: the reference 7923, an early diver with a manually-wound movement. You will also find a white dial chronograph from Enicar, and a highly controversial Heuer Autavia. Dive watches will be represented, with a rare Longines and a funky Universal Geneve. This is your Bring A Loupe for November 20, 2015. A Funky Polerouter Sub From Universal Geneve C A Lot Of Orange At Once 1 OF 12 The second execution of the Polerouter Sub makes the first execution that we covered here appear almost conventional in comparison. Design-wise the second execution announced the 1970's with its bright orange hands, its large asymmetrical case, and the innovative indexes. Like the first execution, it houses an automatic movement with micro-rotor, the caliber 69, a rare feature in a div

Purchase of new clasp not allowed?
About two months ago, I purchased a bumblebee with the standard hornback strap and titanium clasp. From a former purchase I have an original rubber strap which fits the titanium clasp, but just to have two complete sets of strap/clasp, I contacted the only AP AD in Denmark and asked them for a price on a clasp. The salesman returned after a minute of silence and said, that AP didn't allow them to sell clasps or any other spare part for that matter, without the exchange of a defective or worn identical spare part. I don't really mind going for an after market part, but choices in europe seems more limited So is this really the official policy everywhere? I had the notion, that you guys in the states could purchase almost anything anytime?Any suggestions on an after market brand in europe? Thanks....
New pick up - Aquanaut!
I've has this for a few days now and am loving this watch. I haven't posted many picks because of travels but I took a few with my iPhone that I'll post below. The watch is very light and is super comfortable to wear. The finishing is top notch and is a pleasure to behold. The dial is interesting with the different shades of grey and black, depending how the light hits it. It's got clean lines and is not busy at all. The applied numerals and hands are also beautifully done. The rubber strap is great if you want something with a non-bracelet look. The strap works great all year, but specifically for the more hot and humid months. This could easily be a daily wear watch. The movement is beautifully displayed and is finished as you would expect from PP. I really enjoy looking at it after taking the watch off at night. To summarize in 2 words: highly recommended.
