Lucien Piccard Files Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in Florida
Lucien Piccard Inc. and affiliated companies LP Watch Group and Charles Winston Luxury Group filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Florida on July 14. Documents filed with the court show that together, the three companies have about $25 million in liabilities and $22.5 million in assets. Chapter 11 gives companies facing creditor pressure time to reorganize their business. Lucien Piccard was founded in Switzerland in 1923. In recent years, the Hollywood, Florida-based LP Watch Group launched new brands LP Italy, LP Swiss, and DuFonte by Lucien Piccard. The LP Italy “Stratosphere” watch (shown below) won the JCK 2005 award for most innovative new design. Reports indicate that the brand spent heavily on advertising and marketing during 2007-2009. In 2007, LP Watch Group became a sponsor of the American Le Mans auto racing series. The Group also sponsored the Executive Women’s Golf Association.
Noob Question regarding Safari Movement
Do the F series Safari's all come with the 3126 movement or are there any with the 2326? Any help would be appreciated as I am thinking of pulling the trigger on one.ThanksStan
Vintage Gondolo Purchase
Recently purchased a 18K gold vintage Patek Gondolo watch. The case size is about 25mm by 44mm. Believe the dial and movement are 100% original. Seemed like an original and very good quality watch, and I have always liked this style watch, so I pulled the trigger. I will be obtaining the archive papers from Patek, but I believe the watch is from 1926. I just have always found the flamboyant Patek's from the 1920's to be very interesting watches. Plus this style watch is large enough to still be stylish with the trend of larger watches. As an added bonus, the watch keeps excellent time.
Wearing a Patek 5167 is like ....
Walking around buck naked all day. Thought I'd share ! Lol.
Favorite Calatrava in Category thread
I thought it migh be a good idea to start with the Category of Calatrava. A thread to discuss the merits of those Calatrava's we like the best.Remember there are no winners and there certainly are no losers.Just a discussion of which Calatrava's we like and why.Pictures are a must whenever possible, remember it's awfully hard to discuss the beauty of something without a picture. There are 26 models in this category, who would like to start?
