Talking Watches: With Jos Bautista
José Bautista crushes baseballs for a living. In 2010, the former part-time player exploded on the scene for the Toronto Blue Jays with a Major League-leading 54 home runs. He hasn't slowed down since; over the past six seasons, he has hit the most home runs in baseball. (Bautista finished the recently completed 2015 season with 40 home runs; his Blue Jays begin the playoffs on October 8th against the Texas Rangers.) And so when all that success led to a lucrative, multi-year contract, José decided to reward himself by rekindling a childhood passion: watches. 5711 problem
ok here's my story: i have a 5711 that was working fine until about 20 months after buying it i noticed it would lose a few minutes every day.so i brought it in and they did a full service. it worked fine for a few weeks and then it started stopping. even after fully winding, it would stop after a few hours.brought it in again and they did some 'repairs' of which i'm not sure what.now i find it will run for maybe 1 and half days after winding it fully and it will continue running if i wear it. however, once i put it in my winder it will just run as if i wound it fully and did not wear it. it does not seem sensitive to the winder's motion at all. i don't think it's an issue with the winder as all my other watches are fine and this watch was running fine for 18 months inside the winder too. can anyone help me trouble shoot?
16710 crown with double dash??
Sorry if this has been asked and answered previously, but I can't find a thread link. I am looking at a 16710 W series and noticed that the crown has a double dash under the coronet. What does that signify as I thought there was only one dash to represent a twin-lock crown system?A friend thinks it might have something to do with the type of metal or it could be the lowest of the water proof ratings, eg: 2 dots is on the gmt's 3 dots is Subs and Seadwellers Appreciate someone helping me clarify this.
TT GMT owner please chime in
I֪ interested in getting a two tone gmt ceramic and all the ADs in Sydney are low in stock in everything and I managed to find one at a preowned watch dealer from 2016. However I noticed this mark on the triangle on the bezel, I֪ wondering if this is normal for this certain watch.
