RGM Marks 20 Years With Third In-House Caliber
RGM, the pioneering Pennsylvania-based watch brand founded in 1992 by Roland G. Murphy, turns 20 years old in 2012. Murphy commemorated the anniversary in the manner he knows best: by developing his brand’s third in-house mechanical movement, called Caliber 20, and outfitting it in a new watch that RGM introduced at January’s Geneva Time Exhibition.Caliber 20 joins its predecessors, RGM’s groundbreaking Caliber 801 in 2008 and the MM2 Pennsylvania Tourbillon movement in 2010, in the exclusive fraternity of “Made in the U.S.A.” watch movements manufactured entirely at Murphy’s small atelier in Pennsylvania’s Lancaster County, a traditional center of watchmaking since the 1800s.Fittingly, the watch’s movement incorporates a distinctly American technological touch, one nearly lost to antiquity: the so-called “motor barrel” system. An American invention, the motor barrel (illustration below the watch photos) was designed to reduce
Nautilus
First time trying on a Nautilus and...wow!I must say, I now understand the love this model gets from the watch community. It wears so svelte and that bracelet is beyond comfortable.I wish I could justify the rose gold as it is really amazing in person, but I'm not quite there yet.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My calatrava....
How flexible are Nautilus bracelets?
I'm looking a couple of Nautilus models and wondering how flexible the bracelets are?Do they wear and sit on the wrist similar to the AP RO bracelet where due to the tighter integrated design of the links there is only so much flex and movement of the links at the ends near the lugs, i.e. it will only form a curve to a certain size/degree? This would be as opposed to say an Oyster bracelet which has full range of movement between each link if you see what I mean. Are there any smaller wristed folks out there who can comment on how the Nautilus bracelet fits them? Thanks :)
Incoming.... 3 for 3!!!
Well I have been lucky enough to get three new Rolex watches in the last three months.I told my wife before going to our AD that this would be it until the second half of the year... Time to put some money away for retirement and vacation etc...But when I arrived they told us they have a Hulk. It was already spoken for but they knew I wanted to see one in person because I was a little on the fence with this time piece. My wife and a few here on TRF are not crazy about this watch... Well it took me maybe oh a couple of seconds to realize that this watch needs to be in my collection. It is beautiful!!! The dial is stunning and this is what sold me. Back to the topic at hand as I got side tracked... Imagine that... Like a kid in a candy store.I am stoked on getting my new watch. A lot of hard work with my career and it is finally paying off. Here are a few pics from my visit and the watch that I got to bring home...Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
