Oris Chronoris Watch
Watches like this make a great argument for why you need to have more than one watch. How could a singular timepiece style match how you feel all the time? Unless that is, you just don't pay any attention to what you are wearing on your wrist. This Oris Chronoris watch is a perfect example of this fact. If I had one of these watches I would certainly find days when I couldn't look at it, and other days when all I would want is to wear it. How is that possible? It is like how art can function - meant to enhance how you feel or want to feel. The colorful look from 1970 is just not for all the time, but sometimes it is just what hits the spot. Sometimes you feel like being retro-nostalgic, other times the idea sounds terrible. The 70's had a lot of odd watches, maybe not as many as today, but they certainly got weird when it came to shapes and colors. A few things from the era stuck though. Namely large sized cases and bold looks. You really didn't have a lot of that before. In celebration
Fr. John surgery update
As many of you know, Fr. John had surgery on his right leg on Tuesday as a result of the fall he had recently. I was able to speak with him a few minutes ago and I'm pleased to report that he said he is doing well all considered. His doctors feel that the surgery went well and while he has been in a great deal of pain, he is feeling better today.Unfortunately he is not able to access TRF at Piedmont Hospital (ATL). Therefore, he is is not able to visit with us. Please continue to keep John in your thoughts and prayers, Bill P.
Took a trip to Yorkdale today to see the new Panerai boutique
Been 5 or so years since I've been to the mall and I only live about 1.5 miles away. Just nothing I really need there that I can't order off the Internet. However if I want to view watches in person. It's a trip to the mall Last time was when the Cartier boutique opened and I wanted to view the Santos 100 XL models. Quite nice, but sort of like the phase jumbo shrimp. XL was only 38 mm, but a walk around and to check out the rest of the mall I was waiting for the new LeCoultre boutique to open, but it was attached to a store which seemed to look down their noses at you if your not dressed a certain way I dress very casual to test reception. Sweat pants, black casual shirt and white sneakers Last time at the store. Salesclerk followed me around like I was going to do a smash and grab. Not a good morning, hello etc. Guess if they ignored me I would go away. So. No JLC look today Went back to the Cartier store. Looked around at a number of new models. Including the drive. Nice size. Cellini line development - Worldtimer Regulator style
Cellini line is slow seller i think, even after pretty nice new references after Basel -17. I wonder why Rolex does not add more complications to Cellini lineup? If there would be annual calendar, or regulator style with worldtimer... that would turn at least my eyes away from Patek
