F.P. Journe Stars In His Own Manga Comic
I wouldn't have believed it until I saw it, but watchmaker Francois-Paul Journe is starring in his own Japanese manga comic. Written and illustrated by actual Japanese people. Yes, it is weird, but totally true. I picked one up at a F.P. Journe boutique store here in Los Angeles and apparently there aren't that many of them. The manga is called "Story of F.P. Journe" and proceeds to walk through some elements of Francois-Paul's life and careerC and some of the the brand's watches and developments. Actually, the "story" is not entirely new but rather an adaptation of a previous manga made especially for F.P. Journe. That previous manga was produced for the Japanese watch magazine called Tokei Begin and was called "Tokei Kigen Monogatari" from 2005. If you want to know, it is written by Yasutoshi Murakawa and drawn by Nakano Kung-fu.The Japanese have a manga for pretty much everything, so that they would have one to explain watch history is not particularly surprising. I think there is a
John Mayer On Watches: Why I Bought The Patek Philippe 5396G Limited Edition For Tiffany & Co., By John Mayer
It's an interesting time for Patek Philippe from a collector's standpoint. The company has stopped production of some of its greatest complications (the 3970, 5970, 5070, 5004, etc.), they’ve raised their prices substantially (in what I believe to be an attempt to sideline the secondary market), and a new generation of Stern has taken over as president. I’ve been somewhat skeptical about the direction of the brand based on some of the latest design updates, but after cutting the seal on the new ref. 5396G for Tiffany & Co., I know that the brand still cares about collectors. A lot.In fact, I think this watch is a message to collectors everywhere that Patek Philippe will continue to create instant classics. And this 5396 limited edition is one of them. 2 OF 7 The 5396G is an annual calendar made in a limited edition of 100 pieces to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Patek Philippe boutique inside the Fifth Avenue Tiffany &a
I really like this

PAM 390 vs. PAM 372
I need a little advise... I made my first Panerai purchase this summer and secured a PAM 390. It has solid Panerai DNA look to it and the tobacco dial with the gold hands is a wonderful combination. I wish it had the sandwich dial and as a result, I am considering selling my 390 to get a 372. They look identical except for the sandwich dial, the size (44mm vs. 47mm) and the crystal. It is a fair chunk of cash more expensive and is not near as limited. There is also the question of whether my wrist can carry the 372. For the purpose of this question, let's assume I can carry the size. What choice would you make or guidance would you provide me.If it matters, I also picked up a PAM 005 for a more daily wear. Thanks
Rolex strap
Hi, I'm new to the site, well new to you already members.Have a question that has been bothering me. Why do people change the strap on their Rolex for a leather one or something similar?
