Rolex Datejust Watch: New Official Video
Rolex has just released a new video titled "The Spirit of the Datejust" just two weeks in advance of Baselworld 2015, and in honor of the 70th anniversary of the iconic Datejust collection, which originally debuted in 1945. Like most Rolex marketing material, the video is clever, entertaining, and remarkably well-written. "Archetype of the modern watch..." that's just so meaningful on so many levels C and in many ways too true. One of the most interesting things about the video is how little time Rolex spends talking about the modern Rolex Datejust watch collection, with just a few brief glimpses of Rolex Datejust models that you can buy today. In a sense, the video is very much an homage to the Datejust product family name and the history of the collection, along with some of its most distinctive features (such as the date window, and later magnifier lens over the date window).Another theory why Rolex doesn't spend more time showcasing modern products in The Spirit of Datejust video is
Beautiful Temption Big Date Cherubin GDA Limited Edition Watch Available
Though I have mentioned Temption Cherubin watches before, I've never featured the Cherubin GDA model. Another limited edition (500 pieces) Cherubin model. This is likely to be one of the most sophisticated Cherubin watches, and this model is beautiful with its red trimmed parts. The watch also comes in different trims including blue, green, and a few others I believe. The Cherubin watches are at the top of the German Temption's line-up. Highly stylized watches that clearly retain class and dignity without succumbing to any fleeting appeal of avant garde design. Basically I am saying that while there are no other watches out there that resemble the Temption Cherubin GDA, but nevertheless the Cherubin fits in nicely with other high-end watches and has lasting appeal.Actually, a seller on eBay of a new Temption Cherubin GDA posted images of the Cherubin right next to a similarly hued Rolex Yachtmaster. It is fascinating to see the two watches together. The Cherubin is large, much more whi
New Skyfall Limited Edition not to Bad in the flesh
Just seen the new Limited Edition Skyfall PO and it's not too bad, it looks a lot better than the pictures I've seen on the net. Anyone else seen it and what are you thoughts, I don't think it looks as bad as some of the other models.
What am I missing?
I think this is a complete collection: casual, smart casual, dressWhat say ye?
Day Date Owners... No lume dial is an issue?
Unless I am wrong, (which happens a lot) the DD40 has no lume on it's dial(?). I guess because the indicies are made of gold. I often check the time in the middle of the night on my DJ41. My grail is a white gold DD (white face) but does the lack of lume and the ability to read the time in the darkness bother any of you owners? I am wondering if it were possible for Rolex to somehow place a lume on the hands and dial to make it night-readable? If I'm wrong, by all means call me a Dorklehead, but I feel I would really miss the lume function, do any of you DD owners agree?
