Cacheux 8 Watch
Allow me to ask a question to my valued Chinese readers. Exactly how important is the number 8 in Chinese culture? I know that it is considered a powerful and positive symbol, but how drawn are people to wanting items which intentionally focus on the number 8? Let me put it another way; is a good luck charm lucky because it has some special or unique quality? Or is a good luck charm lucky because people label it as lucky? I just see a lot (and I mean a lot) of high-end wrist watches that either focus on or feature the number 8 in some capacity. Most of them don't hide that they do so to attract Chinese customers. So getting back to my question, exactly how big a deal is the number 8?To the Cacheux 8 watch, the number 8 is a really big deal. It goes without saying that it will be produced as a limited edition of eight pieces. The name of the watch is "8," and the watch reportedly required eight months to develop. On the watch dial is a massive eight carat diamond and the case is made of
Lm-Tec Combat B16 + Super Combat B2: Part 1
The Lm-Tec Combat B16 and Super Combat B2 watches clearly have a lot in common. They are part of the same series, have basically the same case design in terms of looks, and have similar styling that speaks to a military aesthetic. But there are many subtle differences that give the two watches very different personalities, from the materials they are made of, to the movements that power them to simply how they wear. Fortunately Chris Wiegand, the CEO of Lm-Tec, has given us the opportunity to look at, wear and examine both watches, simultaneously. So, this review will work a bit differently than our typical reviews. Today, we are presenting you with two independent first impressions of the watches, one by Zach and the other by Blake. The final review, however, will be an in depth side-by-side look at the watches, comparing and contrasting them by each feature and detail. Both the Combat B16 and Super Combat B2 arrived in identical packaging.? Inside of a white cardboard box (labeled w
School me on the difference between these 2!
I've never been a fan of Omega or the Speedmaster (great history, but the watch itself didn't do it for me)...and then I saw the 60th from Basel this year:WOW. So of course I had to make my way to the boutique, knowing full well that they wouldn't have it in stock. That's when I saw the '57 Co-Axial, which also blew me away:So, what can you all tell me about the differences between these two? I know one has a date while the other doesn't, but what else should I know, being a total Omega newbie? The '57 retails for over 9k but I've seen them for around 5k on the pre-owned market. The 60th retails for a little over 7k but is selling at a premium pre-owned. What am I missing, besides the fact that the 60th is a Limited Edition of a whopping 3557 pieces?
