Lew & Huey Riccardo Review
Not too long ago, we introduced you to the Lew & Huey Riccardo. At that point, the brand was trying to raise money via kickstarter to get the watch off the ground, which clearly was successful. Chris Vail, the brand's founder, did an excellent job of building community support via WUS and various blog posts, creating a following before the watches were ever even made. Now, the Riccardo is practically sold out and people are awaiting his next watches, the Acionna and Spectre. There were a few very exciting things about the Riccardo, so we were quite happy to have the chance to give it a review. To start, it's an automatic chronograph that costs $550 thanks to the Seagull ST1940 movement inside. We love it when brands takes risks, and in the Swiss and Japanese movement dominated watch-o-sphere, using a Chinese made chronograph is a bit of bold move, especially for a first watch. But, it's a very cool movement and one of, if not the most, affordable way to make a new mechanical chronog
Aquanaut straps
Hi everyone,I have got a few questions about the aquanaut strap options.Might be able to pick some brains; thank you in advance forumers! The aquanaut 5167a has two variations; the strap and bracelet model. 1. On the earlier models of the Aquanaut 5167 (with the geneva seal); there has been concerns that the bracelet and strap options aren't interchangeable. Would any one be able to shed some light on this? this is due to two little metal tabs on the tropical strap.2. If i had a Aquanaut 5167 with the Geneva seal from 2008; would the a replacement strap purchased for a current model (PP seal) fit on the lugs?3. The Aquanaut came in two different seals; beginning with the Cal. 315 and then progressing to the Cal. 324. It appears that only the Cal. 324 models have had the sticky date issues. Can anyone confirm or deny this?4. The Aquanaut 5167 tropical strap is has a different width in comparison to the 5164 and are not compatible with each other. Is anyone about to share which codes are
Nautilus bezel
Hi guys, I hear all the time that Aquanauts and Nautilus are scratch magnets and when the bezel is very scratched it doesn't look nice at all, so my question is simple, since for me polishing a watch is heresy, does anyone know the price for a bezel for Aquau's and Nauti's?Thanks in advance
Who, what, where is the competition for the Aquanaut 5167
is it the only watch of its kind from one of the big names in Haute Horology?specifically, SS on a rubber strap, with the dimensions of a classic dress watch?as much as i like them, leather straps just don't fit my needs and the larger watches are sometimes too much. What is the competition for the 5167?
Houston, Texas ADs
Hello, new guy here. Loving this forum, amazed at how active it is. I have a Sub no date on order from my local AD. In the meantime I am looking for a Sub Hulk. I live fairly close to Houston, TX and I see that there are numerous Rolex dealers there, including four close together just west of Houston proper.1. Is it okay to call them and ask what inventory they have or is this frowned upon ?2. Anyone here on the forum with knowledge of the current state of inventory in Houston?3. I guess I would be looking at full msrp on this model, but do ADs sometime charge more than msrp?4. Anyone that recommends a certain Houston AD?Thanks in advance...
