Bulgari Papillon Voyageur
Papillon means butterfly in French, and in this instance it refers to the unique and patented system for displaying the minutes on the new Papillon Voyager dual time zone travel watch from Bulgari. Find wallpaper images, launch date and pricing inside. Bulgari's new travel watch offers an elegant and artful display that takes a few seconds to grasp. First, the easy parts: the local hours are displayed digitally in jump-hour fashion in the large window at 12 o'clock. The second time zone is indicated by the pointed end of the blued, centrally-mounted, tear-drop-shaped hand, which points to a skeletonized, guilloch 24-hour subdial. The local time is set via the crown, while the 24 hour hand is adjusted forward and back with push-buttons located at 10 o'clock (+) and 2 o'clock (-).Here's where things get creative: as shown below, the minutes are indicated by a pair of small hands with points at both ends, each of which turns or spins on a central axis while also rev
De Bethune DBS Digital: A Calendar Watch For The New Year
I finally decided that I wanted to write about a calendar watch for New Year's day, but I didn't know what watch to talk about. Calendar watches come in thousands of forms, and have been around practically since the time clocks have been around. There are a few highly complex calendar watches that actually do indicate the year, but none of those suited my tastes at this time. I finally decided on writing about one of the most elegant, "love it or hate it" calendar watches out there made by the boutique watch brand De Bethune. I really like the brand even though they put as much effort as is possible to keep their watches priced well outside the watch, or car buying budgets of the majority of people. The DBS digital ("digitale" if are speaking luxury pretentious) is an extremely basic looking watch from a functional standpoint, and that is the whole point. You have this amazing looking designer case, high grade materials all decorated, and then this simple digital (mostly) display. The t

Newest Acquisition!
I know it isn't a Rolex but....
Patek 5065 Lume
Have this question I always wanted to ask. I have a 5065 acquired in 1999. 2nd version with the sapphire back.Sometime in 2005, the lume for the hands fell off. The hands are still intact. I sent it back to PP service center. They replaced the lume but they are brighter than the rest of the watch, i.e. the numbers and number indicators. Is this normal? My friend said that's cause they use a different luminance. Also I've never polished this watch before. And it is quite scruff up. Should I bother polishing it? I like it the way it is but some people do ask me why don't i polish it. Not sure if that's an insult.
