my brief adventure to HSWA
In comparison to various Rolex(s) i own, the rotor 'whir' from my 5671 is very noticeable. I can hear the whir from about a foot away in a normal office environment. Not knowing if this is normal to this particular movement, I called HSWA. The person I spoke with on the phone asked me to bring it in so they can check to see if everything is in order.. the rotor might be off the rack (whatever that means).As most of you probably already know, after 9/11 most office buildings in NYC require visitors to present a photo ID. Unfortunately I left my wallet home today. Fearing a wasted trip (took morning off from work), I half jokingly offered the security guards my daytona as collateral. They laughed but shook their heads. Grasping at straws, I then asked them to call HSWA if they can send someone down to pick up the watch. To my surprise, an older gentleman (British) in a nicely fitted suit came down to talk to me. He then asked the guards if they mind him escorting me up.Unlik

How can I not feel bored with my GMT LN after seeing the new pepsi?
The LN is my only watch and worn every day, purchased new a few months ago. I like the watch and the GMT function but I sometimes feel the appearance is a little dull and too corporate. Now compared to the new pepsi, despite the ceramic colors more closely resembling fruit flavored candy rather than a traditional bezel, seems so much more exciting to me. If the choice was given to me I would definitely have chosen the pepsi despite its colors lacking the greatness of the pre-ceramic models. Maybe my real problem is that there is such a lack of variation in a collection of just one watch despite me being such a watch enthusiast?

My First Rolex - wahoo!!
So after many years of watch collecting I finally joined the family. I jumped around to different Rolex models and couldn't make up my mind. In the end the deciding factor for my first one came down to two important features. It needed to be ceramic so that it wouldn't scratch easy and the glidelock feature. My wrist is 7.75 and most watches I own are either loose or tight. Very hard to have that perfect fit and be comfortable. This will not be my last Rolex. Short list below of my choices: Short list (1 will be next purchase):1. Submariner (Date/ND)- I didn't want to get a Sub because they are so common and almost clich��. There is a reason though why they are so well looked upon. ND was classic and loved the symmetrical dial. Date is nice to have, but I never use it really. 2. Yachtmaster blue dial- Gorgeous watch and is my second favorite. Didn't purchase due to possibility/likelihood of scratches on bezel. I like the PCL, but hate the scratches3. London Sub
First postJust joined the Rolex club - picked up a brand new LN Sub for MSRP from a AD in London after being told there was a waiting list by literally every other shop. I thought it was going to be a lot harder when reading posts on here. I think I got super lucky.
