"Watch What-If" is a special column on aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer that asks the playful question "what if an iconic watch you know and love was offered in a different style?" The idea embraces a good timepiece's core design and has fun by offering new colors and material concepts to stimulate your senses. These ideas may be provocative, artistic, or just plain silly. This is about fun, Photoshop, and the celebration of wrist watch design and experimentation. The original design we work off will always be at the bottom of the article. The designs are brought to life by Beau Hudspeth who does the artwork and conception after he and I choose the models and styles to focus on. SIHH 2011 Recap: Safe Bet For the Watch World
SIHH 2011 is an event I almost did not attend �� but I am glad that I did. The story of my journey to this year's invite-only International Salon of Haute Horology is however, another story. The expansive halls of world's ��other' most important watch show are a temple of luxury and industry chimes �� you learn a lot by being there and listening, as well as seeing. Together, almost 20 brands that represent all of the Richemont and a few other accompanying high-end watch makers get together to show off their new products for 2011. For those attending, it is an annual pilgrimage, and for those who cannot enter, it is an enviable place to be invited.I'd like to first make a personal statement about being at the event �� I love it. It has been officially confirmed that the blue 15300 is a danger to driving and completely distracting. Different shades of lighting creates a different hue of blue on the dial and almost vintage like given the charcoal blue backdrop. Truly mesmerizing..
