Porsche Design Group Ends Watch Production Relationship With Eterna
Interesting news today as Porsche Design and Eterna have announced that they have terminated their watch making relationship. For years Porsche Design (designed) watches were produced by the Swiss watch maker Eterna, located in Grenchen, Switzerland. As of March 10th, 2014, the two companies have announced the termination of their license agreement to develop, produce, and sell Porsche Design branded timepieces.Sadly, I did see this coming. Porsche Design has aligned itself with some interesting watch companies over the years including, most notably, IWC. Their run with Eterna helped them to produce some of the highest quality, most interesting Porsche Design watches since the company's beginning in 1972. It seemed like Eterna was an excellent and long lasting partner. Eterna had its own problems though, and while very interesting, Eterna brand timepieces were not doing as well as they could have been.In a sense, Eterna watches were plagued by being too focused on interesting movements

Omega Seamaster 8500 - good price?
My local AD got in a brand new PO with the 8500 movement, ceramic bezel, etc. I tried on the 45.5mm and it is spectacular. The price was $6200 US but he said it could be mine for $5400 + the 7.775% sales tax. Is this a good deal or should I look elsewhere, like on this site?He did say it comes with a 4 year warranty from Omega.

UK pricing?
With most watch brands pricing is held fairly consistent from country to country and currency to currency. There may be some small tax advantages of buying in one place or another but generally it doesn�t matter all that much where you buy it. For example Rolex DSSD: US retail 12,050 (?7800) UK retail: ?8050 (12,392)So basically in USD they are within $342 of each other and in GBP they are within ?250 of each other which makes it not matter all that much where you buy it as you are paying basically the same price. Which brings me to the PAM233, which I am currently looking at. With the US price reduction and the Europe price increase they are still pretty close but the UK is the outlier here. Datejust 41 vs Datejust II
I went to 2 local ADs, neither had a true comparison but based on al the pictures ive seen online, it seems the DJII is a little bigger?! Is this true, does anyone have both or have seen both can chime in? The flutes on the new 41 DJ seems to be smaller, the whole watch seems to be daintier, regardless of what bracelet it is on. Am I off? Please help. thanks
