Chopard L.U.C Louis Ulysse Tribute Convertible Watch
The idea of taking a wrist watch and transforming it into a pocket is less common than the other way around. Having a piece that can go back and forth between wrist watch and pocket watch is much rarer still. Sure it is a novelty, but I think it is one that Chopard executes rather nicely in the case of their new L.U.C Louis Ulysse watch. L.U.C (I am just going to write LUC for brevity) labeled watches in the Chopard line as those that have their in-house made movements. At least this is my understanding. LUC might even stand for Louis Ulysse Chopard, not 100% clear on this. Well nevertheless, this piece is a direct tribute to the man.The watch begins with a new manually wound pocket watch movement. The movement design is actually apparently further intended to be used by watch making students at the Geneva Watchmaking school. The idea is that for the student's final projects, they will make one of these movement. Nothing created by mere students has been fitted into any of the 150 piec
Need tips buying my first Royal Oak
HeyI am buying myself a RO. I just want some input from people with experience.Currently I only have one offer, to trade my 116610 (fullset, 2012) with a guy and pay about $4700 to get a 15202 (no box, no paper) from 2004 but in very good condition. Service history unknown, so it might be in need of a full service. Is that a good deal? I was going for a 15300 at first but this is what I got at the moment. I don't know what I miss if I get the 15202.If this isn't a good deal, what is? Please help me and if you have tips where to look (some shop, dealer or anything) in Europe it would be great to know!Grateful for the help I can get!
looks much better without stickers...
having owned my 15400 for few weeks and deciding its is keeper (for awhile anyway ) finally removed the plastic from bezel ..wow this watch really looks goodAs my other ap the bee has ceramic bezel never really seen the beauty of the ap steel bezel before...
breitling love
So I've had a superocean steelfish for quite a while and its always in my rotation but it never was my favorite(always behind my omegas). Recently i'm really loving it and now I'm really eyeing a B01 or Skyracer... not sure how I'm just now really appreciating Breitling
One watch to share?
Happy Easter everyone. My wife and I were invited to a special preview of this years Basel release on the 25th. The event is closed to the public and is by invite only. I'm sure many here on TRF will be attending a similar event in their region as schedule permits. Being so privileged to get this invite, there is no way I'm not buying something from my AD the evening of the event. So my question to you all is:What watch would you recommend that both my wife and I could wear and enjoy? Taking into account-1. Size2. Ease of bracelet adjustability3. Material/color4. Gender neutrality We are definitely leaning toward precious metal. Not sure of our wrist sizes, but we are similar in height and structure but would definitely have to adjust the bracelet when swapped. I could pull off a 36mm case size, and in this day and age where women are wearing bigger watches, she could definitely pull off a 40mm case. She loves the Daytona but I'm not really a chronograph guy. We both love the president
