Saturday Morning Rewind: One Year Ago This Weekend, We Went Inside Rolex, And Boy Did You Guys Like
The goal with HODINKEE was always bringing you guys into a world that is, at times, seemingly surrounded by a cement wall of European conservatism and secrecy. Whether it's sitting down for a beer with an NBA all-star or silicon valley visionary, witnessing how one of today's modern masters make his masterpiece , or an in-depth, hands-on with the man who designed the most complicated wristwatch in Patek Philippe's history, I feel pretty good about saying we're doing our job. Still, one story in this category rises above them all to take you someplace where few have ever or will ever have access – inside Rolex. It was this weekend one year ago where I published the 10,000 word story that takes you, the HODINKEE reader, inside incredible, clandestine world of the most important watch brand in the world. 1 OF 1 HODINKEE is one of a small handful of outlets ever invide its Bienne facility, where movements are produced. Watch Spotting: An Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph On The Wrist Of Danny Willett Duri
England's Danny Willett was already reaching for his Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph when Jordan Spieth missed a short putt for birdie on the 16th hole, all but sealing the race for the 80th Masters. And the carbon watch was on Willett's wrist by the time he was presented with the Green Jacket, the first of his career.Spieth looked to be on course for his second consecutive Masters title, leading the pack from day one and starting strongly on the final round. But the young American crumbled on the back nine, scoring a quadruple-bogey on the 12th and leaving room for an unlikely comeback. Willett, who started the day three shots behind Spieth, fired a 67 to capture the 80th Masters title.Audemars Piguet is strongly linked to the golfing community. The manufacture's CEO, Fran?ois-Henry Bennahmias, once had a promising golf career in front of him, ranking as high as #25 on the French golf tour before pursuing a career in luxury. But he's stayed very close to the professiona

advice on 8500 straps
Im considering the 8500 planet ocean 42mm. I like the old style rubber straps however all the new POs i see have a rubber strap with deployant. the straps appear to be leather underneath. so therefor i doubt they would be good for water use. does anyone know if the older style rubber with tang buckle will work for the new 42mm 8500? im just not thinking i want the bracelet since it doesnt appear to have easy adjustments for wrist swelling. plus the rubber would be lighter on the wrist. thanks so much. i search all over and could not find my answer. ofrei didnt seem to list anything specific for the 8500 as far as rubber straps are concerned.
Patek 5164 Aquanaut on Leather
Hello,Ended up putting the 5164 Aquanaut on a 21mm strap I had. It's not made to fit the factory deployment but already working on that and have two custom straps ordered to get the look with the factory deployment.Until then enjoy the pic, you don't seem many with leather. I really like it as it shows off a lot more of the great shape of the case! Sent from my STV100-2 using Tapatalk
