Found: A Completely Fake Black Dial, Screw-Down Paul Newman Daytona On Ebay, For Over $24,000
We see a lot of comically bad watches for sale on the interwebs (here's a fun one, just for kicks), but watches like this are so incredibly terrible that anyone with an iPhone and any sense of reality can figure out not to bid on them. And then there are the good fakes – those that may use some real parts, or tell a great story about how the watch may have sat in a drawer for 25 years. You know, like this steel Patek 1463 that we spotted on eBay back in September. Well, right now, there is another would-be dream watch online – this time with 127 bids and a price of over $24,000 with just about three days remaining. We'll break this fake down for you. 1 OF 3 That's that watch, up there. It's a Rolex Daytona Reference 6263 with black Paul Newman dial. Now if you know anything about Daytonas, you'll know a Paul Newman is worth over $100,000. With a black bezel, it's worth over $150,000. With screw down pushers and a white dial it is worth
What??
Very unhappy, my diver never had the slightest shock, never, and just now I see that a small chip of ceramic between the bezel and the crown guard, basically the most protected part of the case, has gone off, in itself it is like a normal cut in a metal watch, it is almost not visible, because of where it is situated, but this is very disappointing since this is AP ceramic which is supposed to be 7 times harder than steel and it was never ever hit even moderately on something, and that part is so protected you have to take a very pointy chisel to make it, which I did not do, I suppose it is a construction failure, just hope there won't be any other... Not sure you can see it, it is basically in between the crown and screw of the strap, again it is the part of the case between the bezel and crown guard... No you see it, the small white mark just under the rubber image.jpg
Omega - dark side of the moon.
I recently tried this watch on and just fell in love with it. I was never really that interested in Omega before, but now can not get this watch out my head. Anyone else willing to pay the price for it? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
VERSUS: A Touch of Red (GMT-Master / Sea-Dweller)
Eleventh edition of the VERSUS post/picture. What is VERSUS? Well, I thought it would be fun to compare two watches (and only those two watches) and discuss pros/cons by outlining the differences and getting folks' ideas/thoughts/opinions on TRF. We got folks here that have been collecting and studying these things for decades all the way to those who are just starting to venture into the crazy world of Rolex (and everyone in between). Therefore, it would be fun and educational! For this edition, we have a showdown of a couple models with a touch of red. The GMT-Master II 16710 with the red 24-hr hand and the 50th Anniversary Sea-Dweller 126600 with the red 'Sea-Dweller' on the dial.Which do you prefer and why?Previous VERSUS:1. 16014 lug hole size??
Hi all,I have been having trouble removing the spring bars from the end links of my 16014 when attempting to change straps. I think it may be easier to leave them in the end links of the bracelet and then buy a set of replacement spring bars for the straps I want to use on my DJ.What I am having trouble finding is the size of the spring bar that will fit the lug hole. Would these work from Amazon: a.co/3HywiOc ?Thanks in advance!
