Found: The Patek Philippe Owned By The Founder Of Coca-Cola, And Other Ultra Cool Pateks Now On Exhibit At Tiffany New York
There is, as we've mentioned elsewhere, and as many collectors know, a very long and rich common history between Patek Philippe and Tiffany, which goes all the way back to 1851, as we've explored elsewhere. It's a remarkable history with a remarkable legacy, with Tiffany-signed Patek Philippes forming a significant group of watches and often commanding a premium at auction over non-Tiffany signed models, thanks to their relative rarity. Patek Philippe and Tiffany have just opened a remarkable exhibit: a selection of unusual and in some cases unique Patek Philippe watches and pocket watches, from the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva. They will be on show at the Tiffany flagship in New York for the next six months or so, and are a must-see for pretty much anyone interested in horology – it's exceedingly unusual for Patek museum collection timepieces to be seen anywhere outside the Patek Philippe Museum. Beware: Professionally faked sticker in a authentic warrantybook AP
Hello everybody,I was looking for a Rubberclad H-series in steel for some time. Came past one at Chrono24. Did contact the seller because the watch was a H serial(new type dial, the one I was looking for) with the serialnumber starting with a H (ofcourse). I did ask for a picture of the certificate/warrantybook with the numbers readable. The watch was dates 2008 . Asked the seller (store) how that's possible, seller responded that it is normal that a H series is dated 2008. He had sold a lot of H-series dated 2008-2009. I did't trust that so I did check the combination of warranty and casenumber on the Audemars Piguet website on the extend the warranty section . This works well if you want to check if the combination of the numbers in de books is OK. I first did check it out on a few other watches. If you try to extend the warranty of a watch with legit numbers the website says the warranty is already extended til xxxx OR if the previous owners never had extended the warranty:
Missed estimate by Clearwater
So I sent in my Diver under warranty to the Clearwater facility on the 4th of September to get an adjustment since the watch was running 15+ seconds a day. A couple of days later, I had recieved the estimate that the repair would be done by approximately about four weeks. At the end of the second week I gave them a call to get an update what has been done to my watch. They said that my watch is in QC and should be ready in a week (a week short of the estimate). I was very pleased. This week I gave them a call and she said that my watch is going back to the watchmaker because it has failed the quality control. She said that a pinion has to be replaced and they are ordering the part directly from Switzerland. Which it would take about another four weeks. I am worried that the watch would not be done before I leave the country and that they cant mail the watch outside the US. My question is has anyone here have the same issue that I am having (missed estimate) and how long does it take f
Fluco Horween shell cordovan straps from Chronoworld
Has anyone bought one before? I just received mine and, honestly, I'm a little underwhelmed. It looks kinda like plastic to me. And not sure what to make of the INOX on the buckle.Prior to ordering, I did some due diligence on Chronoworld as well as the guy who runs it seem to be pretty well regarded. Maybe it's just that the fine German craftsmanship ain't all that...Why, you may ask, am I posting in the Omega forum? Because it's on my old Seamaster 300 :)
Selling restrictions by AD
So I have been hunting lately for a couple of pieces that are very hard to find! However, I have been told by multiple ADs that they are not willing to ship out of state and one AD even told me that they would not sell it to me in-store because I am from outside their market area. This AD had an in-depth phone conversation with me and said that Rolex may take away his AD status because he is selling to customers outside of his market area.I don't understand this...
