Junghans Meister Agenda Watch
Everybody's got an aesthetic sweet spot C design principles that speak to you for no particular reason. Imagining your ideal watch is difficult, just like choosing a favourite in anything. But when someone sticks it right in front of your face, you just know that it is the one for you. And yet even then, even when you're holding the watch in your hands, you struggle to describe why it works for you. That's pretty much how I feel about the Junghans Meister Agenda. This is not the first Junghans I have had the pleasure of discussing. It was a brand I knew little about before I started writing for ABTW C aside from their association with the late great Max Bill C but my admiration for their products has grown quickly. I recently discussed the new Max Bill range here, and was impressed by the cleanliness and balance of the dials. This seems to be a respect held by many in the horological community. Teamed with the fact these watches come from a German brand with some history and don't cost
Christophe Claret Allegro Minute Repeater Two Time Zone Watch
The flagship new watch by Christophe Claret for 2015 is the Allegro - the Swiss watch maker's newest musical watch that combines a cathedral-style minute repeater with a second time zone indicator and a big date window. Is this the traveler-friendly minute repeater watch you've been waiting for? Once again with a "smiling dial," Claret proposes a unique combination of complications for niche high-end watch collectors who will most appreciate some of Claret's handiwork. When we last left off with Christophe Claret minute repeaters, I took a hands-on look at the Christophe Claret Soprano watch in 2013. The Soprano contains a movement with a minute repeater as well as a tourbillon - producing a beautiful and full minute repeater melody as it tells the time via chimes. The Christophe Claret Allegro isn't just a Soprano without the tourbillon and some extra complications. What you should notice first is that the movement has been flipped over, with "Charles X" bridges inspired by those on th
Speedmaster Pro 45th Anniversary Edition at AD
Passed by an AD today and saw the 45th Anniversary Speedy Pro in the display, so snapped a quick photo of it. Didn't get a chance to hold it or try it on the wrist unfortunately. In some of the photos I've seen online I thought the dial may be a bit dull/flat, but in person it actually looks quite nice, and the applied markers gives it some nice contrast.
Patek Philippe watches - NON HACKING!
I was so shocked to learn that the Patek Philippe 5711 Nautilus is non hacking! What's the reason for this? Surely to guage how accurate a movement can be, it needs the second hand to stop whilst setting the time...? Such a huge price for something generally considered the best in the world & it doesn't have this simple feature...??!
No tudor teasers?
I want some tudor action! What gives? I keep checking their IG and nada...
