Affordable Vintage: 1970 Grand Seiko 61GS 6145-8000
While Seiko is probably best known for their dive watches, they are also masters of creating hi-end dress watches. Their Grand Seiko (GS) line made its debut in 1960, and continued until the 1970’s. The mechanical Grand Seiko was revived in 1998 and continues production to this day. The most iconic of all the Grand Seiko case designs began as the 44GS in 1966 (manual wind), and culminated in the 61GS in 1968 (automatic). The 61GS line was the result of refinements over the years including technology from the Astronomical Observatory Concours of the late 1960’s.Reviewed here today is a 1970 Grand Seiko 6145-8000. The watch was designed by Taro Tanaka, the first graduate of a college design program hired by Seiko. He wanted to design a watch that would “sparkle brilliantly” while on display, one that would compete with the Swiss watches of the time. He came up with a set of rules that would come to be known as the “Grammar of Design”.The components of

Omega and "Limited" Editions
I have always been a fan on Omega watches, but is seems more often than not they are coming up with more and more limited editions to the point where I'm not sure they are doing themselves a favor. While the number of units produced for each addition seems limited, the sheer number of different limited editions Omega puts out is almost mind boggling...Just curious what others think...1.) Does Omega put out too many limited editions?2.) In your opinion, what are the top 3 most sought after LE from Omega?Look forward to hearing people's thoughts!
My latest omega
Just got this from a truster seller on this site and i love it. Traded in my 2254.50 for a breitling superocean and regretted it ever since. Because of this i just got a 2252.50 (36mm) and it fits perfect on my 6.75in wrist. was worried it would be small but its perfect for meThanks everyone
1st post and 1st Rolex...Deepsea Blue.
4927CFC7-08F8-4437-B045-11B5CD6F4914.jpegIt's big but could care less (have a tiny wrist). Love it! Seems like the resale from other sites is lowering the price. Could care less, no regrets on the purchase. AD offered the SD43 first but someone left a deposit quickly before a response. Two months later got a phone call for the deepsea blue and just bought it on the spot. I got that feeling that this will eventually discontinue. Any thoughts?
