Smaller AP RO doubts: 14790 vs 15450.
Hello AP watch lovers,We all start our watch addition somewhere and mine has been developing quite fast.I own currently only a Rolex SUb 2 liner 14069 and an Omega Speedmaster that I picture below for wrist reference and would like to enlarge my watch rotation with a different style (considering also a white Daytona but upfront comes the RO).My wrist is around 17cm which equates to 6.75 inches and therefore my preference goes to smaller watches (say max 40 as my sub above).I was eying the RO 14790 blue dial , a 36 with JLC caliber , thinner that the new 37 version, which in the condition that I look for ( full set and not polished or minimal ) is between 10 and 12k - never tried this watch and will most probably not have the a chance to try it before buying.or the new that I tried this weekend 15450 (37 and in house movement and thicker case )in blue dial below:l which has a retail of 17k.I know most of you will advise to go for 15202 but I strongly believe would be too big for my ta

Patek 5140 - a bargain or pitfall
Whilst looking for a 3970 i came across a 5140 being offered by quite a reputable grey market dealer based. The watch is the 5140G and is five years old - whilst i have not viewed it in person the dealer tells me that the watch is in excellent condition and the photographs would seem to back that up.The watch is priced at $45,000 - which to me seems very reasonable. The catch is that it comes without the original box (the dealer said that they could provide a Patek box) and without original papers. I spoke with the dealer and he wasn't sure if he had the archive papers either. Is there any way to mitigate the potential pitfalls of this purchase (e.g. it could have been stolen, could have been serviced by a none approved Patek specialist, could be faulty etc).Or would you just stay away from it all together?I don't mind passing on it but i find it hard to miss out on what could be a good deal.Any thoughts / input appreciated.
Who Doesn't Like a Nice Family Photo!?
Had a chance to shoot some watches home from the bank for a visit (who can guess which watch I was wearing today? )LUME!behind the scenestime to go back to the bank!
Batman
After saying I was not a fan of the Batman I saw one in the flesh and instantly fell in love. The LN is svelte and oozes class. The BLNR just has that something extra that makes it pop - I guess it must be the bezel The bezel is an amazing piece of work with its liquid colours which just flow into each other and alter depending on the strength of the light. Lovely watch and I think the nicest modern Rolex out there. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
