Antiquorum’s June 11 auction in New York will include timepieces associated with American icons including Steve McQueen, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Frank Sinatra, and others, well as collector pieces including a Patek Philippe Ref. 1436 dating to 1941, a mid-1990s Patek Ref. 3970, and an A. Lange & S?hne Tourbillon Pour le M��rite” produced in 1996.Steve McQueen fans will have opportunities to bid on 2 wristwatches associated with the actor: the TAG Heuer Monaco worn during the filming of Le Mans, and a Rolex Submariner Ref. 5512 given by Steve McQueen to his good friend Jimmy Brucker. McQueen’s Von Dutch motorcycle is also included in the sale. Cacheux Elephant Automatic Watch
This is a watch that I really never thought was going to be made. It started out as a concept watch called the "Galibier" based upon a concept car from Bugatti with the same name. Fabien Cacheux designed it to have a perlage decorated "drum case," Bugatti logo, and an interesting strap system. Less than a year later, a more practical version of the piece is being made - but in very limited quantities and it will be called the "Cacheux Elephant Automatic."Although France based Cacheux tries to explain the "Elephant" name, I still don't quite get it. I am the only one that thinks that the leather straps that are available for the MOTM 20mm tapered to 18mm are borderline feminine?I love the watch, cant stand the strap width, and it's crazy how much 2mm changes the appearance of the straps

Hello all,Any ideas for Patek's revelations at Basel?I've heard through a reputable source that there will be a replacement for the 5131 coming out.Other than that it's anyone's guess. I don't think much will happen in Calatrava because they did a big push in 2013 with 5227's although possibly something with the 5196. I think they'll try to play down Nautilus with the travel time from last year and the paranoia they have with Nautilus over-defining the brand.What does everyone think?

I had the day off yesterday so of course I went out to look at watches. My main target was the Lange 1, I liked it.My wife wanted to go to Tiffany & Co and they had a few pieces I had been wanting to check out. The first one I noticed was the 5196P. Originally I had been interested in this guy until I found out it doesn't have a crystal case back. Seeing it in person confirmed that it wasn't for me.Next was a 5124G, I quite liked this one. It reminds me of the JLC Reverso which I also enjoy. The new 5200 reference is something I'd probably really like if I had the funds and luck to get one.The title of course is the 5119J. This watch is just stunning and if I had the space on my card I would have probably bought it even though it had the Tiffany dial. They just got it and put it in the case hours earlier so I was the first person to try it on. I had no idea how intoxicating it would be, I went from 6 to midnight almost immediately. My wife said she preferred the rose gold
