HODINKEE Powerball Special: What Watches We'll Buy When We Win Tonight's $1.5 Billion Jackpot
Here at HODINKEE HQ, we have been talking about the Powerball A LOT lately. We all (shamelessly) have bought tickets and are waiting with bated breath until the numbers are drawn tonight. Naturally, we all have talked about what we would do if we won and the obvious question has been, "What watch would you buy?" So here you have it, our tops picks of what watch (or watches) we would buy with the $1.5 billion winnings. Nicholas Manousos C George Daniels' Space Traveller 1 OF 6 If I win Powerball tonight and could splurge on any watch imaginable, I would attempt to purchase George Daniels' Space Traveller watch. I say attempt, because the Space Traveller is a one-of-a-kind watch that was last sold at auction on November 6, 2012 for 1,329,250 GBP. I would have to somehow find the current owner, and convince them to part ways with their unique piece of horological history. Finished in 1982, the Space Traveller is George Daniels' masterpiece. Vintage Omega De Ville (My First Omega Watch)
Hi Everyone,Just bought my first Omega off ebay and need some experts' help to source some items. It's an Omega De Ville from the 1960s, ref number 166.0029. Based on the pictures i saw from the listing and by checking against reputable sources, i am quite confident it's authentic. Here are some pictures. I know it's too late but what is your opinion on it?It's a little beat up, but i like it like this. Weird, i know. Probably, just for a piece of mind, I'll send it in for an authentication and servicing by my local AD.As you can see, the watch is missing spring bars and a strap. I am going to order these parts from cousinsuk. I am pretty sure the lug width is 18mm, but then after some googling, i am beginning to have doubts. For the spring bars, i am confused by the information that is available online. Can the experts here confirm whether it'll fit an 18mm leather strap and what the spring bar part number is? Cousinsuk lists everything by part number, so it's best too have this infor
help reorganize the collection - 5167?
getting a litle bit bored with my collection and after adding a 5980, been trying to find reason to get another Patek. I'm quite sure already that my red sub, AP ROO Ti, and the Patek chrono will be for keeps. I'm looking to flip a PAM194 subzilla and an IWC Ingeneiur 3227.What do you guys think? Would the aquanaut be a worthy addition (I know this is a Patek forum!)? Less is more, quality than quantity? Signs of getting old (over 40 now). I'm still inclined with sports watches though and these 4 watch rotation will keep me happy for the time being.Need help. Watch nut alert!
Sky D SS blue found one at MRP!
Happy to let fellow members of this forum know that a little research and persistence from my side and a whole lot of luck has paid off ,got my SS sky dweller with a blue dial from the ad at list! All I did was call up the dealers all over the country and used a little influence and here it is! Paid for it in advance today ,will be on my wrist in a weeks time as I have to go to Mumbai to collect it ! I consider my self lucky a SS Daytona C in white got it in 3 months and the SS Sky D in a matter of 2 months ...Sorry about the poor quality of the pictures sent to me by the sales guy but will post better ones once on my wrist ... along side my Daytona C Hope fully this completes my quest ....
Daytona Blue dial blue insert insert. Really?!
I apologize for the redundancy...posted seller on Watch Out but I possibly wasn't succinct. Seller name posted there. Listed as authentic, not custom. Also, SS copy of Platona only $13,000+ (jpeg file wouldn't load...sorry).
