Hands-On: The Ultra-Rare Panerai Bronze 1000 Meter Prototype, Coming Up At Christie's New York This Week
One of the most unusual watches we’ve seen in a while is this bronze prototype – rated to 1000 meters’ water resistance – made by Officine Panerai in the mid-1980s, as part of a project to develop dive watches for the Diver Corps of the Italian Navy; the watch is going up for auction this week from Christie’s. It’s a pretty rare bird, but for our money what really takes it to the next level is that it’s a fantastic example of how utilitarian design can, when pushed far enough, transcend itself and produce something really exciting aesthetically, which is fundamentally what the appeal of Panerai is all about. 1 OF 4 Before getting into aesthetics, just from the standpoint of objective rarity and historical importance, it’s a pretty remarkable piece and would probably attract a great deal of attention. Continuation from: .rolexforums/showthrea...=250689&page=2First off I want thanks our very own....DAVIDSW. Smooth transaction every time and one of our very top grey's and contributors to TRF. Next I want to blame Oscar (BodyBump) for introducing me to AP and doing such a good job selling me my first AP. LOL I also want to give a shot out to our AP International Mafia.....Bodgan (Seattle1978), Paul (Texex91) and Ed (EdChoi). The Enabler Trifecta Finally, it all can only end well with the FedEx guy so muchas gracias.
Omega bracelets
I wonder why they refuse to put micro-adjustments on their clasps. I have bought 2 PO's over the past couple years but can never get the bracelet to fit right and end up selling them for that reason. I don't understand why any watch would not include micros. Thoughts?
Watch regulation advice
I am thinking of sending my DateJust 41 in to be regulated. Everyone on here raves about the Dallas location. Here is my question.. can I send it directly there if still under warranty or do I have to go through my AD and they send it there? In would rather just FedEx it myself to be honest.Anyone who can answer this I would appreciate the help. Thanks.
