Mir Watches Hands-On
Simple is harder to achieve in design. When something lacks bells and whistles it is more vulnerable, easier to pick apart and scrutinize. As such, it is a risk for a brand to pursue something simple and clean. But, when simplicity is achieved, there is an unmistakable beauty that comes along with it. This leads me to the actual topic of this article, a relatively new brand of watches from Sweden, called Mir.?Mir didn't set out to do something terribly new or innovative, they didn't use fancy materials or shocking colors, they just made a pure expression of a 3-hand watch that lacks pretention. With a dial design that is sparse, but well balanced, a calf-leather strap that is refined, but basic and hands that add just the slightest bit of contrast, the Mir watches are more about style than substance. One look at their very well directed photography will confirm this. They set out to make a watch that can be worn by anyone and in any situation, and I think stylistically, they succeed
5110 or 5130 -- Please help, what's your favourite and why?
newbie question striking again....I've seen that price difference for 5110 compared to 5130 are quite substantial. Is it explained for the bigger case, mostly? Newer model with little differences?or is it there more I could not figure out so far? I do appreciate this watch, on my humble opinion the epitome of GMT conceptGiven that one is 37mm and the other almost 40mm, how this difference in size look on your wrist?I'm asking so many question, sorry , but for a good cause -- I'd very much like to get one in near future, but my watches are basically 40mm and bigger...so my doubt. Any input would be much appreciated -- thank you in advanceLuciano
Dra144/ Panerai
Hi AllI have been off the forum for some time and just back on. I noticed that above Seller is banned. David & Alan Gross from bridge street jewellers. I bought a PAM from him years back, should I be concerned about it’s authenticity? Anytime I took it to AD they would always ask me where I bought it.. I thought it may have been due to grey market. The papers I have are stamped in Lisbon.
New GMT case
Is it just me or does the new case look nearly unchanged! I am trying to imagine the lugs being smaller, but don't see it. Maybe the bracelet got a bit wider? And where is the change to the side of the case they are advertising?
