How Glow-In-The-Dark Tritium Gas Tubes Are Made At MB-Microtec
Seeing how tritium gas tubes are made will surely remain among?the coolest experiences I have had on?these horology-related manufacture visits.?Tritium gas tubes are these extremely tiny (about 0.5mm?thick and at least 1.3mm long) glass tubes that are filled with (mildly) radioactive tritium gas C although, as we will see, there is a lot more to them than that. What these tubes do is that?they are guaranteed to glow brightly and continuously for at least 10 years, without having to be charged by external light (like the luminescent material used on other watches),?or needing to be activated with electricity or otherwise. These little tubes just glow, unstoppably, for up to 20?years, no matter what. The company that is manufacturing these tubes is called MB-Microtec, situated near?Bern, Switzerland.?They are?the only company on the market today that is capable?of manufacturing these?barely visible glass tubes and filling them with tritium, thanks to their special know-how for working wit
Diver Just Made It Back Home, Where it Belongs!!!
Just received my Diver back from the APSC in Clearwater. The issues were fixed under warranty and the 3rd year was activated. Looks like the detent screw for the crown was loose and oils were drying. Oils drying??? Watch is less than a year old. Well, we know some of these Divers had issues with the oil and to be honest who cares. I love AP regardless!!! Best watch company ever!!! Finally back home after a very quick turnaround of two weeks. AP rocks!!!I apologize in advance for the crappy iPhone pics this morning!

Rolex 16570 For a Chef?
Hi! This is my first post here and my first potential Rolex purchase. I have been collecting watches for about 3 years now, mostly vintage Enicar sherpa guides and other chronographs. I have a speedy Circa 1995 which I love because of the vintage look of the aged tritium but it's more modern reliability.I am a professional chef so I really only have the opportunity to wear my vintage watches 2 full days a week which keeps some out of rotation for a long time. I really love the 16570 explorer II and am considering to purchase one as my daily watch to wear to work. I currently use a Seiko skx, which is fine, but would like to step it up a bit.I see photos of this reference with either: a) white looking hands and markers b)Cream aged markers but white hands c) both aged hands and aged markers.Being a vintage lover I like the idea of the Watch having the possibility of developing patina in that way and reading the time in the dark isn't a big issue to me.I know of 2 for sale right now th
