WatchTime Hosts New York Collectors’ Dinner with MB&F’s Max Bsser and London Jewelers
The “F” in MB&F stands for “friends” and the iconoclastic, independent watch brand’s circle of friends expanded last night, as WatchTime, in partnership with London Jewelers and MB&F, hosted an exclusive private dinner with Max Bsser (the “MB”), owner and creative director of MB&F. Twenty collectors were treated to a three-course dinner, along with cocktails and Champagne at the ever-elegant The Mark by Jean-Georges restaurant on Manhattan's Upper East Side. (MB&F’s “robo-clock,” Melchior something of a mascot for the brand was also in attendance.)The highlight of the evening was Bsser's inspirational and candid presentation on his childhood and early interest in the watch industry. Among the topics he discussed were his early successes and failures, along with the sense of fear that he admits still feeling each time he creates a new watch. Collectors listened with rapt attention as Bsser, an animated
Archimede Has Two Classic Pilot Watches You Want At Good Prices
Classic pilot watches were designed to be legible in all light conditions and worn over a flight jacket. They needed to be tough and really clear to someone who was wearing goggles. Companies such as IWC and Glashutte pioneered the designs, and since then many others have taken the look in many directions. Those that stick with tradition do it best.German watch maker Archimede has spent a good deal of their efforts on pilot watches, with good results. Faces are often the same, with bold luminant smothered number markers against a black dial. Pilot watches were among the first "big watches," so we can enjoy amble proportions. These two new PVD coated "Black Pilot" watches from Archimede do the tradition justice. The good news about the watches is that they are fully featured, but without taking away from the theme. Inside you will find either an ETA 2824, or Valjoux 7750 chronograph movement. Both automatic movements of course. The three hand model has a nicely integrated black backgrou
1st Patek
Hi, I am looking to buy my first Patek. Nautilus 5711/1A-010. I would like my first purchase to be through an AD. I am going to Las Vegas in June. Anyone has a good connection with one of the ADs there?I know the standard price is around $26700. What sort of discount would be considered a good one? Thanks!
Incoming.....PAM 81....first Pamerai
After much searching I finally hooked up with this watch, my first Panerai. It was purchased from seanlandaes a trusted seller on the forum. It's a Special Edition from 2000 and only 200 were made. Because of the age I had the watch shipped directly to the watchmaker I use for a complete service and I'm anxiously waiting for it to be finished.I've already bought some straps for it even though I really like the bracelet.I will post a wrist shot when I finally get the watch till then here you go....Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Any DD(36/40/41) fans out here?
Everyone in the Rolex forum seems to be sided towards the sport models, and for the right reasons they are amazing. To add some diversity, are there many DD owners/lovers out there? What kind of DD do you have and how much do you love it? Any fans that are waiting for a Basel 2018 release of something DD related?
