AP No. 2? Confused...BB/Volcano/Panda
AP community - I've come for advice (aka enabling and empowerment that only TRF knows how to do). I picked up my first AP (RO 15400) last month and am loving it. Since then I've been looking for a more casual/weekend watch. So this weekend I tried on a Diver at the Bal Harbour boutique, but was not so happy with it. My major issue was not liking the screw-in crown at the 10. Naturally, I then proceeded to try on a few others. I didn't think I wanted any more chronos as I have a daytona on which I never use the chrono feature. Tried a BB and a Volcano (wanted to see a panda but they didn't have one). I have to say though these ROOs are big gorgeous watches - and not to mention how the chrono dials look on the tapestry and the recessed date wheel . I'd have to say that the panda is probably the one I'd be most interested in because of the color scheme being a little more down to earth and I'm not sure I love a carbon forged case (maybe an acquired taste that will grow on me). OK, the Omegas are growing on me...
It has always been a cherished brand for me, perhaps because my father and mother always wore Omegas (still do), but there were always some design aspects that kept me from buying. Until now, I think...So I visited the Omega Boutique on during lunch today. I already talked about my favorable impressions of the Speedmaster 9300 on a separate thread. I've always had a week spot for the Ploproof but quite never had the guts to pull the trigger, but then today I thought I'd give the Planet Ocean 8500 42mm another look. And I was very pleased, dare I say, smitten by it.I recently sold off my SubC, reason being that I have the old Sub and the DSSD, so I don't really need that bad boy as well, but moreover, I feel like the redesign has Rolex on the wrong track. The bezel in combination with the glossy dial just makes the darn thing too shiny and blingy!? The oversized lugs created a boxy designs that just doesn't speak to me. And there is no hiding from the fact that when I go to an office m

Holidays are Coming
Holidays are coming and wanted to be ready.Got these for our 2 boys (ages - 28 WG Daytona, 31 DSSD).28 lives in Europe, travels frequently, 31 in California. Both are on casual side, figured these would be appropriate, and have read how comfortable the Tropical strap is. Also under the radar. Considered 2 - 5167's, liked the date window, however I liked the feel of the 5164's more, and the second time zone for the traveler.I generally wear PP 5980/1A-001, PP 5270 Series 1, and occasionally a Rolex Double Red Sea-Dweller.Now I think I need a Tropical watch also??
