Lady 60M back from full Service
My wife just received her 1969/70 Omega 60M back from a full service. Thought I would post some pics. The movement needed a full service so I figured it was a good time to redo everything. It was originally a black bezel - black dial watch. The dial was showing it's age. A bit faded but mostly cracking that was only going to get worse with every day use. I managed to find new very old stock case, crown and dial in burgundy red. I figured it would be best to use these rather than ruin the original case and dial and keep them original for any collector in the future should she every want to part with the watch. The new mesh bracelet I ordered unfortunately showed up in 12mm. The 13mm replacement is on the way.The last pic is before it went in, Black on black. I prefer the black but I could not find a new OEM black dial.
Speedmaster differences - help please
Hello...posted a couple of previous posts , but now I am pretty close to pressing the button on a Speedmaster - one problem though - there is a few of them , and since the shops do not have most of them , its only looking at pics and specs on websites - and ofcourse your helpFirstly the relevance of the professional in a speedmasterAlso , what are the major differences between these3210.50.00 0 -40mm so slightly smaller than others but I think it will do, has date , but is automatic at a good price - the face looks like it has a lighter black circle in the middle ( GBP 1560 )3220.50.00 - has day too , otherwise very similar to above , GBP 1810 )3570.50.00 - Cheapest Pro , same price as above , no date , 42mm , ,manual wind which in my eyes is a small negative ( GBP 1920 )311.30.44.50.01.002 - the Pro , 44mm , co axial system , still not sure if it means same as automatic but I think both are movement wound , the Pro face seems slightly cleaner and it has a glass back , GBP 2870311.30.4
Rolex Two Tone late 70s Thunderbird
Would like to get some opinions. I recently have been given an offer to buy a two tone Rolex Thunderbird made during my birth year. No box, papers or bracelet. It has the 1570 movement, 14k gold unidirectional bezel and stainless steel 36mm case. It is in excellent condition including bezel and has been serviced recently. The dial is gold tone. The seller is asking $3,500. I never thought about a two tone until now. Being made in my birth year makes it extremely tempting. I have been shopping for a Rolex to be worn in casual and formal attire (sporty but also dressy). I really like the added bonus of the unidirectional bezel with date as it would be an extra function for a watch at this price point. Should I pull the trigger or keep shopping around? 36-39mm case sizes look perfect on my 7 inch wrist. Thanks for any opinions.
