Audemars Piguet are all inlaid nicely with carbon fiber
In the middle, the pattern changes to look like a race track curve, a bit like a flag, or perhaps the Microsoft Windows logo (surely the latter). The 44-45mm wide case came in titanium or steel and was made in the 'carbon fiber' era (as I call it). In terms of case size, I am not totally sure, but I think the gold model was a bit larger than the titanium model. The bezel on the top and sides are all inlaid nicely with carbon fiber. This also applied to the chronograph pusher housings on sides of the watch. The chronograph pushers on this model were originally meant to look like gas pedals, but have since been used so much that forget their original theme. I love the woven stitching on the alligator strap. Supposed to look like a racing suit, but (especially on the titanium model) reminds me of a Spiderman web.
Picked this Seamaster up in Vienna
It's a 35mm quartz, 37mm with crown. Back has standard Seamaster stamping. The AD said it was a vintage 90's model. Clearly has been polished. What are your thoughts?
Speedy Chrono Second Hand as Date Indicator...
I was given an interesting idea today - to use the Chrono second hand as a date pointer. So my question is not if this is a worthy idea or not, but rather will it wear or harm the Chrono movement by resting in an awkward position for 24hrs at a time? Thanks.
A Little Late to the 5131R Party!
I have waited for this one for it seems like a long time. I owe Danny Govberg and George Mayer my sincere thanks for the quality of my collection!! We have been together for many years and I hope for many more. Last fall the Patek Philippe trip was the highlight of my watch collecting journey!! When Govberg does a trip, they do it right. It's now time to set this one free!
Part number for 116233 crystal?
Hello I'm a vintage guy so all of my manuals predate this watch. My sis in law asked my help to find her a factory replacement crystal. Can you tell me the part number? Thanks in advance.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
