New from Parmigiani: Two Wristwatches Inspired by the Past
Parmigiani Fleurier has unveiled two new limited-edition wristwatches inspired by antique pocketwatches from a collection owned by Parmigiani Fleurier's parent, the Sandoz Foundation. Both wristwatches are part of Parmigiani's Toric collection. Find images, prices and wallpaper inside. The pocketwatches that inspired the new wristwatches are on view in New York at the well-known vintage-jewelry and Russian-art gallery La Vielle Russie. They are part of an exhibit called Mechanical Wonders, featuring 50 pieces from the Sandoz Collection, and running through Nov. 26. Watch lovers will be familiar with many of the items because they are normally on view at the famous Muse d'Horlogerie in Le Locle, Switzerland. The first new wristwatch has unusual telescopic hands that get longer or shorter as they rotate around the oval dial. Visiting Boston for the week and stopped by European Watch Company again. Should have known better! Walked out with this stunner:Tony sized it perfectly -- what a great salesman. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
Score!
Well, the second best thing at an AD. I went into an AD in Westchester County, NY (not the big T), no SS sport models except 1 Explorer, polar dial, thats it. In regards to sports models the only PM model they had was a WG ceramic bezel Daytona with the rubber strap, thats it. No other SS models, no PM, except what I mentioned above. Their Rolex display was 50% empty, only had lots of DJ's, like other AD's. Saleswoman told me they received no shipments since mid November and don't expect any shipments until February. The wall display was empty and this AD has an entire room dedicated to Rolex, no other watches in this room. The woman told me that they have received hundreds of calls asking for any SS sport models. She told me that people preferred the SS models, but when they could not get SS, they bought TT and all PM models. They had a huge Christmas.Edit above: I am sorry, they also had a SS Sub Date, so for anyone who wants it, PM for AD name, again they are in Westcheste

I touched on this before recently in a thread. People told me that I'll get used to it. But this damn thing is so heavy. I don't know how you do it Neil!I need to give it a break. Going to wear the DJ TT linen face for a little while.Any other precious metal daily wearers deal with the same issue? Thoughts ?
