VCXO Ox One "Magic Button" Mechanical Watch With GPS Time Synchronization
The VCXO Ox One is a bold new concept from a young Geneva-based brand which offers a rather unique bond between GPS technology and mechanical movements. While the accuracy of?GPS-set quartz watches is universally?acknowledged, most watch enthusiasts will agree mechanical watches tend to have more soul, thanks to their?"beating heart," when?the same can scarcely be said about electronic watches. With the Ox One, VCXO tries to achieve the best of both worlds by offering a watch with an automatic mechanical movement?equipped with a GPS module on top, allowing for the?synchronization of the time?with data received through GPS technology.?That sounds like some proper space-age technology, so let's discover how it works exactly.Serving as the?foundation of the watch is a TT-738?automatic movement from Swiss?Technotime SA, an independent?supplier that produces complete movements, movement modules and even balance springs. The movement runs at 4 Hertz (28,800 beats per hour) and packs a full 5
Smaller AP RO doubts: 14790 vs 15450.
Hello AP watch lovers,We all start our watch addition somewhere and mine has been developing quite fast.I own currently only a Rolex SUb 2 liner 14069 and an Omega Speedmaster that I picture below for wrist reference and would like to enlarge my watch rotation with a different style (considering also a white Daytona but upfront comes the RO).My wrist is around 17cm which equates to 6.75 inches and therefore my preference goes to smaller watches (say max 40 as my sub above).I was eying the RO 14790 blue dial , a 36 with JLC caliber , thinner that the new 37 version, which in the condition that I look for ( full set and not polished or minimal ) is between 10 and 12k - never tried this watch and will most probably not have the a chance to try it before buying.or the new that I tried this weekend 15450 (37 and in house movement and thicker case )in blue dial below:l which has a retail of 17k.I know most of you will advise to go for 15202 but I strongly believe would be too big for my ta
INDUSTRY NEWS: Basel '09
Hopefully more to come. These are models schedule to be released by Omega, the world's timekeeper.mage borrowed from TZ mod Damon who got the image from an industry insiderThis is a remake of a 1970 model nicknamed the PloProf (Plongeurs Professionnels).I don't have detail about the 09 version but the 70's version had a monocoque case milled from one complete piece of metal, a security button for the rotating bezel, and a square crown on the left sealed by a fluted compression nut. It was water resistant to 600 meters.

Have an option to buy, doesn't seem that hard to come by... anyone own and any thoughts on the piece...I'm on several lists for both the black and white stainless... for the price of WG I could have both stainless pieces...Thoughts, pics, recommendations
