New Watch Brand Arc-Tic Out Of Iceland
If you were to pinpoint a brand that you'd associate with Iceland, it would likely be the JS Watch Company, who have been creating luxury watches since 2005. ?Today we're bringing you word of the latest Icelandic watch company, ARC-TIC Iceland - which just happens to be brought to you by the same people.ARC-TIC shares more than just a country with JS Watch Co - they're actually sister brands. While JS focuses more on refined and high-end pieces, ARC-TIC will be looking to target the outdoors sports market, with designs (and specs) to accommodate those demands. Their intro promotional campaign in Iceland involved a guy in an astronaut suit walking around engaging in guerrilla marketing. Why the ARC-TIC name? The first bit of that is actually pretty obvious - Iceland has the Arctic circle running through it, so it was a natural name to pick up. The hyphenated tic is specifically to call to mind the ticking sound you'd pick up from a clock or watch. Subtle, but I like it.Pages: 1 2 3
AP Diver VS New AP Navy....
...what would be your choice?, I love both but would probobly pick up a used Diver as these can be had for a reasonble price nowadays but the navy is still quite expensive as it is still a new model...I have tried the Diver on many occasions but still have not had the chance to see the new navy IRL so any impressions of the navy would be welcome...DiverNavy

5164 Aquanaut vs 15202 AP Jumbo
I have an option of trading my 5167 for an AP Jumbo (plus a bit of cash). But arriving in a few weeks is a 5164 that I have first dibs on (and have been waiting for). Trade the 5167 for the Jumbo or the 5164?I own a 5711 so perhaps the jumbo will be doubling up. And have owned a 15400 in the past and while I appreciated the craftsmanship I didn't love it (too blingy and large). In fact the only AP I'm interested in is the Jumbo. The 5167 I've warmed too considerably after a slow start but I also like the slightly larger dimensions and the complication of the 5164.Thanks!
No mama, No Papa Rolexes in Miami, etc.?
I read this article: https://.nytimes/2018/02/16/s...egistries.htmlAnd it mentions the phrase no mama, no papa which is supposedly used for the purpose of conveying that a watch has neither papers nor serial number.According to a Los Angeles based dealer mentioned in the article, no mama, no papa watches are very easy to trade. After all, a gold Submariner is a gold Submariner. I cannot imagine wanting a Rolex with no serial number. How can they possibly be easy to trade?I think it is against the law in some places to have an item with an altered serial number. Texas comes to mind. Are Rolexes without serial numbers really as common as the article tries to imply? I thought it was an interesting article, but maybe a bit of a shill for the watch registry services mentioned.
