Urwerk EMC Black Watch Presents The Dark Side Of Horological Tinkering
It was only a few months ago that we went hands-on with Urwerk's amazing EMC watch?and discovered its unique electro-mechanical venture into?horology. Now, the brand has announced a new PVD coated version of the Urwerk EMC, dressing up this beast of a watch in a stealthy, matte black color. Now, where the Urwerk EMC watch stood out was that it mixed mechanical timekeeping with a digital accuracy checking device that would allow the wearer of the watch to check?the accuracy of the watch at any given moment, without having to connect the timepiece to an external machine or any other apparatus. It was called the?"Electro Mechanic Control," and it certainly remains the key feature of the Urwerk EMC Black. That sounds complicated enough, and despite the hugely impressive achievements in miniaturization, the UR-EMC movement still requires substantial space. You see, while?the so-called?large watch trend of late?certainly brought along the C oftentimes?rightful C criticisms of watch enthusiast
Torturing myself - seeking opinions!
Hello everybody, This will be my first luxury watch purchase. I own a couple Citizens, Fossils, Bulovas but nothing exceeding the $1k territory. Anyhow, I began with looking at an Omega Speedy Pro, went to a boutique tried it on and just really wasn't grabbed by the watch. It also seemed a bit heavy. Ultimately I really wasn't all that comfortable in that price range to begin with. I find a lot of the Breitlings attractive, but I am not turned on by the majority of the physical sizes they offer. I finally came across the Avenger II GMT, with specs of 43mm round by a little over 12mm thick. I was still skeptical of a 43mm but I went to my local AD to try it on and found myself pleasantly surprised with its fit and comfort. I would like to mention it also seems light on the wrist. I was offered a great price ($3,600 OTD) but now I am just absolutely killing myself over which color to pull the trigger on: black vs the off-white. I am leaning towards the white. I have attached a
The Mitsukoshi dial...
I've been trying to land on the right Speedy for me. I'm not sure this is it...but wow is she pretty. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1359579275.797497.jpg
PO Strap Question
Hi Guys, Thanks for all your help thus far in my pursuit for a rubber strap for my PO. Happy to report I should have a new rubber strap next week! Reading through a couple older forums, some say that it's necessary to install the rubber strap with new spring bars. Can I not use the current spring bars I have on my stainless bracelet? One thread even said the rubber strap requires a longer spring bar. Any advice is always appreciated!Chris
Help- Nautilus 5726/1A-001
Hi Guys! This is my first post. I certainlly have learned a lot from you guys, Thanks!I finally made up my mind and decided on the 5726/1A-001. I've been calling AD's like crazy lately and everyone is telling me they are sold out and check back by Jan/Feb. Since this would my first PP purchase, I don't really have any connections in the PP AD market and feel that they are not taking me sriously hence they priorotize their established clients. Does anyone know where I can find it at an AD in Europe? I found a couple in Dubai's grey market and they were reasonably priced to be honest but I'd rather get it from an AD.Thanks in advance.
