Concord C1 Big Date Radar
Concord says the new C1 Big Date Radar is “endowed with a rugged look, a strong character and a distinctive personality.” They have a point. The dial presents an array of levels and textures with hour markers that float above the fray. The 3.3 mm-thick sapphire crystal is secured by a bezel that is is straddled by eight black rubber-clad protective tabs, anchored by side screws. The price and wallpaper-size images are inside.A double-window big date display and rotating small-seconds disc with triangle indicator combine with partially-skeletonized hands to display the relevant data. Generous amounts of Superluminova assure easy nighttime reading.Inside the 44mm x 12.95mm case, the COSC-certified automatic Caliber 3532 La Joux-Perret movement runs in 26 jewels for 44 hours at 28,800 vph. The case offers a sapphire display back, through which the owner can view the rotor adorned with a vertical C?tes de Genve motif. The case is water resistant to 200 meters. A rugged khaki-c
RGM Starts Case Production in the USA
Following the debut of the first American-produced mechanical watch movement made since 1969, RGM Watch Company is now producing its own watch cases in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The first RGM cases to be produced are those of the 151 series of automatic watches, including the 151P (black-dial Pilot model) and 151E (classic style with engraved dial). In addition to having the ability to locally manufacture the standard 151 cases in stainless steel or gold, RGM is introducing a titanium version of the 151 – the brand’s first titanium production model. The next style scheduled to begin production is the 42 mm case designed to house RGM’s Caliber 801 – the large-size hand-wound movement that is also made in the Lancaster region, which is home to RGM and was the birthplace of some of the greatest watches in American history.
On the fence & looking for opinions
I've been planning on purchasing my first AP since late last year, but have changed my mind several times. I'm not currently in a position to buy 2 different models, so one will have to satisfy me for a while. Here are the favorites in my price range, in no particular order:RG RubbercladSS 44mmCarbon 44mmCarbon DiverI also like the Diver & several of the new, updated 42mm versions, but think a stainless bezel will eventually disappoint me since I tend to scuff my current watches pretty easily. Of course these are also a significantly lower entry point as well, which isn't horrible either.I haven't tried on a Carbon 44 or even seen one in person, but have tried on the others. My wrists can support both size and weight of any of them without discomfort. My only concerns on the carbon models are that they are very unique, which might force me to get a more traditional AP down the road.Anyway, I'm still kind of all over the place and would likely be happy with any of them, but I'm l

The background shots are of Venice Beach and enroute shore line from and to CLW. The Seamasters seem particularly photogenic in this environment, but I might tend to have some bias.
Advice for picking an "engagement watch"
First off, I just want to say thank you to this forum. I just found it a few days ago, and I have read many threads and feel like I've learned a lot! I would like to buy my boyfriend a watch as an engagement gift. He is new to luxury watches, as am I, though I would love a rose gold Lady DJ. We've looked at some online as well as in a store, and tried some on. The ones we liked the most were:Blue sky dwellerBlue date just 41, diamond indices, jubilee bandTwo-tone Daytona with a white face.He really liked the date just, but I'm afraid the diamonds might make it too dressy for everyday wear. He travels for work, so he would use the 2nd time zone on the sky dweller on most days. The Daytona he liked because he likes things to mess with, and it had lots of action to indulge his ADD. I want to make sure I get him something he can wear on most days, knowing it's more likely to be an heirloom than something resold as an investment. Any men here wear diamonds daily? Any advice on getting a new
