Blancpain 500 Fathoms No. 1/1 for Only Watch
For Only Watch 2009, Blancpain has created the unique 500 Fathoms Only Watch No. 1/1. The 48mm diameter 500 Fathoms is water-resistant to 1000 meters. An automatic decompression valve housed inside the brushed titanium case guarantees the watch's security and reliability. The unique anthracite gray dial sports a carbon fiber center. A tinted blue sapphire ring provides a transparent view of the date disc rotating beneath a window at 6 o'clock. The luminescent coating applied to the hour markers, bezel markings and hands, along with the red tip of the central seconds hand, ensure optimal read-off in all circumstances. The easy-grip raised notched unidirectional rotating bezel facilitates handling, while the titanium and scratchproof sapphire crystal bezel is slightly domed to reduce the risk of impacts. The sapphire crystal case-back allows the owner to admire the self-winding Calibre 1315 with its hand-decorated oscillating weight shaped like a boat propeller. Advice: Purchasing my first AP
So I have zero background in APs, as I have always been a Rolex / Panerai owner for a while. I have been looking very closely at a AP Survivor being sold at watchuwant - I just love the aesthetics of the watch in every way. My wife says it looks like a casio g shock and thats what I want, something that can be easily confused for a 99$ watch by some and recognized as a amazing watch by a few. I realize this is about post is extremely general and I hope you excuse me for my ignorance. I have parsed through several topics but I just wanted the more experienced AP ROO guys and if possible guys that own the Survivor to give me some of their thoughts and opinions relative to comfort as a daily watch, resistance to damage, scratching of the coating, resale, or anything else that would be relevant to understand before I swipe a credit card. Once again apologies for topic that is as deep as it is wide. I have looked through the stickies and read several posts in TRF about AP and ROOs but not
Thoughts on PP 5180
I am thinking of buying this model. My AD told me to be patient with it. I have never seen it in real life. Would appreciate to have the views from owners. Thank you.
5711 problem
ok here's my story: i have a 5711 that was working fine until about 20 months after buying it i noticed it would lose a few minutes every day.so i brought it in and they did a full service. it worked fine for a few weeks and then it started stopping. even after fully winding, it would stop after a few hours.brought it in again and they did some 'repairs' of which i'm not sure what.now i find it will run for maybe 1 and half days after winding it fully and it will continue running if i wear it. however, once i put it in my winder it will just run as if i wound it fully and did not wear it. it does not seem sensitive to the winder's motion at all. i don't think it's an issue with the winder as all my other watches are fine and this watch was running fine for 18 months inside the winder too. can anyone help me trouble shoot?
How Important Are Box And Papers?
How Important Are Box And Papers if you trust the seller (and they offer a refund)?I can understand if you want to sell it, but let's say it is a keeper, and it was roughly $1K cheaper?
