Antiquorum's fall auction in New York generated an impressive $3,679,437 in sales. The top lots included a Patek Philippe minute repeater, two Patek ref. 5004s, and Philippe Cousteau's Rolex “double-red” Sea-Dweller, ref. 1665. Let's take a look at the top 10 sellers. The top lot of the auction was this set of four Vacheron Constantin Metiers D'Art Masks timepieces. The set featured a pink gold case with Mexico mask, a white gold case with Gabon mask, a yellow gold case with a ritual Buddha Japan mask, and a platinum case with Papua New Guinea mask. This lot, number 223, sold for $603,750.This set of four Vacheron Constantin Metiers D'Art Masks was the top-selling lot. The next three lots are collector favorites from Patek Philipe. Lot 117 is a ref. 3939 minute repeater in white gold with what was described in the catalog as a possibly unique Breguet dial.” This watch was sold new in 2002, and at the auction, it brought $351,750. New SMP and a huge thanks to a great TRF member!
Yes, I just got another SMP, I sold my last one a little while ago. But, when I found out the 2254 is supposed to be discontinued this year I just had to get another one. The only Omega dealer in the area is Tourneau, they think the word discount is a four letter word. So, I reached out to David (DocD), he called his AD for me and got me a great deal on this one. His AD overnight shipped and it just came in today. I almost forgot how much I love this watch. Thanks again, Doc. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the help
Being drawn to a Panerai
I'm a watch lover but haven't added a Panerai to my collection......any suggestions? My passion seems to be vintage as I've a Daytona, Red Sub, GMT and a Speedy.I like the winder protector on the Panerai's and have noticed some movements are auto's and some manual, and others have crystal glass or Perspex!Bit of a mine field!..... got a budget of 3500 ish.....Any suggestions pleaseCheers
Roger's watch @ Indian Wells (Basel Leak?)
Forgive the blurry pics off the computer screen but can someone tell me what watch he's wearing? He's been wearing this all week. Looks like the same color bezel on the Platona but don't see any sub-dials on the blue dial. Maybe it's the lighting in the TV studio but this doesn't look familiar to me. White Milgauss, Thoughts
Well I've been seriously thinking of buying a white milgauss to go with my sub. I know it's discontinued now and I'm seeing a few decent prices on new from grey dealers, still 1500. over used. There are quite a few out there, any thoughts on this one. I just think it's a sharp one and even though it's polished I think I'm pretty careful.
