F.P. Journe Octa UTC
F.P.Journe’s Octa UTC is a GMT or two time zone watch that incorporates a patented system to indicate the second time zone using both a traditional second hour hand and an unconventional graphical representation of the Earth showing the 24 standard, full-hour time zones and taking into account summer and winter time. On the dial, the blue hour and minute hands (and the date) indicate the owner’s local time. Once the local time is set, the owner positions the second geographical region – indicated by the colorful globe – on “0” for winter hour. The gold hand, which makes one complete rotation every 24 hours, automatically positions itself at the corresponding time for this region. The +1 /-1 graduation positions the specific region for summer hour linked to the geographical location of the user, depending if it is positioned east or west of the chosen zone. The Octa UTC is available in platinum or 18K red gold, and in 38 or 40mm diameters. The automatic
Jacob & Co. Astronomia Tourbillon Watch
For 2014, Jacob & Co. returns with a rather amazing watch creation sure to impress everyone from traditional watch lovers to the public at large. Watch the video below of the new Astronomia Tourbillon and it is easy understand why "wow" is a typical response to this complex and very interesting horological creation. When and whether the Astronomia will actually be produced is another question, but even if the timepiece remains a digital video I would be happy at the creation of the mere concept.Jacob & Co. was one of the first watch makers to understand the power of "insane watch," that being a mechanical watch of epic complication meant solely to wow and impress in a manner akin to the tone and content of many rap music videos. These are designed to be "ultra-luxury lifestyle" watches for people who buy new yachts when they are bored and surfing eBay on their phone while waiting for their personal bankers to exit the toilet of the yacht they are currently sitting in. The only
Patek 5164R...thoughts?
Hey all,Overall, I like Patek's offerings so far for Basel 2016. I wanted to add a sporty Patek on rubber strap and I couldn't decide between the 5164 and 5167r. When Patek introduced the 5164r, I got pretty excited. Here are some pics from Watchcollectinglifestyle. The price is $51,000. What are your thoughts? Thanks.
3940 vs. 5140
Mates I'm in the mood for a perpetual and can't decide between these two in either WG or Platinum. Anyone that owns both or has tried both on ? I've tried on the 5140P blue dial and G white dial and found the dial small and the details difficult to read. Never tried the 3940 but told the dial is easier to read despite a 1mm size difference. Opinions would be helpful here please.
Removing the SubC Oyster Bracelet
I have a question about removing the oyster bracelet on my SubC. Specifically it has to do with the glidelock clasp. I already have the Bergeron 7825 tweezer tool, so removing the endlinks is easy. But I'd like to separate the bracelet at the clasp into 2pieces before removing the endlinks WITHOUT unscrewing a link. On my Explorer with easy link I could do this by removing the micro adjustment springbar inside the clasp. I can't tell if I can do the same thing on the glidelock though. Does the glidelock come apart easily?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
