HourTime Show Watch Podcast Episode 150: A High Rolex
Did you know that in a store deep in the streets of Hong Kong is a Rolex Oysterdate watch with a pot leaf dial? Whether or not it is aftermarket or authentic, it does exist. John and I are almost officially Rolex fans at this point and we discuss our current feelings about the brand. Omega gets some love as we discuss the Seamaster Aqua Terra 15,000 Gauss with its highly anti-magnetic movement. We then switch gears to discuss Casio's pretty darn awesome G-Shock GW9400 Rangeman, and the muse of Konstantin Chaykin's world's first mechanical hourglass timepiece.Listen to the HourTime Show watch podcast episode 150 here. Saphire case back RO Chrono?
I recently went to a watch fair where i chatted with the people in the AP booth. I tried the RO Chrono ref. 26320 on and asked why the watch has a solid case back instead of a saphire case back as most other RO models. The kind woman gave me an explanation on why and added, that AP is currently working on a new caliber for the RO Chrono which will have saphire case back.Do any of you know anything about this new caliber and a possible saphire case back for the RO Chrono ?
Generally Fed Up
GuysMany of you know that I was going to pick up a Speedy Moonwatch this coming Christmas.Well...I just visited my local jeweller and discovered that follwing the recent Omega price increase the Moonwatch has gone up ?500!!!!!!!!!!!!That now puts this watch at over ?2000...very close to used Rolex GMT2 Pepsi territory. Now I haven't got a clue what to do?Any advice?J
Back in Black (Alligator Straps on 16518)
Since I have lost some weight (actually my AD convinced me to try his diet with him, it worked pretty well lost about 40 pounds from 200 to 155) my wrist got a bit smaller. I decided to switch back to my regular size black alligator strap for my 16518. At first I was terrified to change straps on my daytona, and the first few switches did not go smoothly. I just switched back to my black alligator without much drama and the watch looks completely different.
If Rolex Were Raising Prices...
...when would they announce it? Does it normally coincide with Basel new releases?I honestly can't believe they wouldn't raise them now.5 or 6 years since last increaselimited supply of SSmany watches selling for over MSRPPatek 20% increase on NautilusHow much more wind in their back could they want?
