Why doesnt AP add a new model to their Royal Oak line??
Why doesn't AP add a new model for their Royal Oak line? The Perpetual Calendar is very nice but pricey as heck. And the tourbillion and skeleton models serves more aesthetics then function.I wonder if they will take more of an Patek Phillpe approach and broaden their functions on the sports line.Maybe a GMT to come??What do you guys think?
Breaking out the some AP Carbon for the weekend...
Loving the Alinghi as much as the day I got it.
My one and only Omega get a makeover
Now I feel its time to give my Speedmaster some care. There is a few dings and marks. So what are I waiting for?I start to open it up.A nice dustcover protect the movement.I have to pull it out.The dial and hands are in great condition but need some clean. The pushers must leave the case too. Then I start with a razor at the bezel. And after that the pocketknife. There we go.And the crystal will be replaced. So I start with clean the case.Tomorrow I will give it some polish and brushing.Ok, time for a little grinding work here are the things at the table. Its a hard work. Grind, grind & grind. And it will looks like this. After I have grind I have to polish too. Here is my homemade polishing machine. In action, works like a charm. Here is how it looks and I have leave a few dings and marksbecause I dont want to get too hard on this.Next step is to visit my watchmaker and he will clean the dialand hands. Put it together again for me. I will shot some picswhen the watchmaker work with it and p
PP 5167A vs. AP 15202
Currently struggling deciding between the Aquanaut 5167A on rubber and the Royal Oak 40th Anniversary blue dial 15202. All input, suggestions, personal preferences, etc. is appreciated!I am looking for a watch that can be worn everyday, is comfortable, dress up/down, and will retain its value well. The only other watch I currently own is Rolex Milgauss GV. Thanks in advance!
5711 vs ap ro?
Dear TRF members.I apologize for creating a thread that has been discussed previously.Whilst trying to add another piece, I find myself really confused between the legendary Patek 5711 blue dial, and the Audemars piguet jumbo 15202.Both stunning as most will agree, and the price difference is not an issue as I am already spending quiet a large amount on either.I really love the dial of he 5711, coupled with its rarity, but also like the presence of the RO.Another thing the Patek has, which may sound stupid, is the fact that it is a Patek.I don't mean to say AP is not a great brand, we all know how incredible they are, and I definitely don't think they offer less in terms of quality, but I can't help but feel that Patek is a different league, and one that many aspire to achieve.Which would you pick? Only one choice of course. Appreciate your help, and I am genuinely really glad to have found this forum!I must add that I own a SS Rolex for an everyday use, a speedy that was a gift, and a
