Habring2 Doppel 2.0 Watch
I don't know why it took me until now to cover Habring2 here on aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer. You've heard about German watch makers, but what about Austrian ones? Well now you have. These guys are pretty cool - and certainly unique. Imagine if Sinn and Tutima had a cousin across the border. Similar but different, that German speaking cousin regularly wore bowties. That would be?Habring2. I mean all is good except for the little mathematical "squared number 2" numeral next to the name. I get that it is a team of Maria Kristina Habring and Richard Habring - but did they need to choose a character that requires like 10 minutes to figure out how to enter into a text document? If Habring2 was a mathematical equation I think the result would be Germanic mechanical sentiments times nouveau design classicism equals whatever you see here. That makes sense right? I never did very well in abstract math. With highly limited production numbers, the best pieces are watches like this Doppel 2.0 (redunda
Watch Case Materials Explained: Titanium
Please welcome Mr. ?lker ?zcan who will collaborate with aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer on a few articles discussing materials and processes used in watch cases and other components. Ozcan is a professional Materials Engineer and owns a small R&D company (ndsgnwatches-dealer) - and he loves mechanical watches and loves the exotic materials used in those watches. The purpose of this article series is to enlighten watch lovers about many aspects of watch materials so that everyone can make more educated decisions about the watches they are buying. Now on to Mr. Ozcan:In this first article I have chosen to start with Titanium. Titanium has recently become very popular in high-end watches, and it is not without reason. For me, titanium is the best overall engineering metal ever! Is it however the best material for a watch case? Let's take a look...We engineers measure many properties to evaluate materials. Probably more types of properties than you have heard of if you are not a materials e
Audemars Piguet White Ceramic Diver (Wawrinka)
Always heard the concern of others regarding the limited matchabilty of the Audemars Piguet White Ceramic Diver with their outfits. But man, I just realised that Wawrinka had showed all of us an additional way of matching the GORGEOUS beauty! Look at how Wawrinka is wearing 'her' now in The Wimbledon Championships 2015. If there's a will, there's a way! P/S: I admits, I'm actually watching the watch a little bit more than the game itself!
431a meets a23322
decided to bite the bullet and treat my Navitimer to the OEM bracelet (431a) and am very happy I did....heck, my wife even noticed it and commented that she liked it. I found out how much of a b&*%ch it is to size the 7 row links, but on the flip side, man this is one super comfy bracelet and drop dead gorgeous.
1953 Seamaster restoration - good value?
Just after buying my first Rolex (through this site), I posted a question about whether it was bad to let the watch sit in a case and wind down frequently. I was sort of hesitant about wearing my grail watch every day. A few guys here talked me down and I now wear it all the time, and love it. I tell this story to point out that I now understand better what constitutes 'value' in watches like the Submariner. If you're still reading, please check this out.styleforum.net/t/277090/1...amaster/0_100#This watch caught my eye in a big way. As you can see, the watch has been pretty extensively restored. Can anyone comment about pricing on this? I did a search or two but couldn't get a clear indication of what a restored watch like this should be worth. If it's sold 48 hours after this goes up, I'll have my answer. If I'm going to overpay, I at least want to know I'm overpaying. I'll check for any responses after 10 pm EST tomorrow. Thanks.
