A Classic Vintage Watch, Circa Now: The Jaeger LeCoultre Master ControlGeographic
Imagine a crisp fall, Sunday. Cold enough to wear a sweater, hot enough to subdue the top on your vintage Mercedes SL. You and your beloved are directed to Manhattan after a weekend in the country. And what is on your wrist as you admire the foothills of the Hudson Valley?
The Jaeger LeCoultre Master geographic control, it is, of course. If you think chic and classical words should always be used in tandem, it is the watch for you. Brown leather band perfectly accompanies the case of stainless steel and transports you at a time when metal bracelets were worn only on the sports watches. Unlike the more complicated watches, which may begin to look confused, the face of this Jaeger has a simple, clean look.
AP 36mm SS bracelet - Where and How Much?
Hey Everyone, First post here. Been a long time vintage AP fan and have owned several from quarts 33mm to 36mm 14790 two tones. Mainly because I can't afford the 39mm chrono yet :)Anyhow, I just got a slight step closer and just purchased a 36.5mm Pictet & Cie Special Edition in absolute mint condition. I would really love to put a bracelet on it. Do you guys know where I could get something like this or how much it would cost?I was thinking of buying a 14790ST and switching the bands if I can't find any solutions and then reselling the 14790ST with the Pictet leather band as the Pictet band is quite special and there are lots of people out there who have been looking for a leather band for their 14790Here is a quick pic of the watch, since I am proud of it.
AP accuracy
I have my eye on the offshore series APs these days, and am contemplating jump into the deep end here with finding a mint second hand one. How do these compare to my DSSD? My DSSD is literary keeping +5 seconds time after about 3 months, which is the best time I have seen from the last 7 high end watch I have owned. I am fearing buyers remorse, not from a quality perspective as the APs are one of the most elite, however from a time keeping perspective. I like. My watches to keep very accurate and reliable time, and not just a Picasso on the wrist.Help me here y'all!Stay or go?
The Regulator or The Datograph
I'm currently on my hols in Malta. I dragged my wife to the local Patek AD in Valetta today and was surprised to see they had a 5235 in the window. I was actually going in to try the 5170 which was there but I don't think its for me. I was taken by the 5235 though, my only concern was it did look a bit big on my 6.75 wrist, but they could just because I'm used to 39mm.When I get back to the UK I'm on the look out to try the first generation ALS Datograph. Obviously these are very different watches, I already have the following 5167, 5711, 5146, 5396. What would you go for next The Regulator or The Datograph?
