Casio Shows Bluetooth-enabled Watch at CES
Ever wish you had wristwatch like Dick Tracy that could transmit information and make calls? Or what about the utility wristwatch from Inspector Gadget that monitored activities and had two-way communication functions? This year at CES, Casio is unveiling a prototype Bluetooth-enabled watch that speaks to Smartphones and other mobile devices. Through Casio's Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, the Bluetooth watch will be able to perform a variety of functions on a single coin cell battery. Its abilities include: Call and e-mail alert C notifies wearer of incoming e-mails and calls while also allowing wearer to silence Smartphone sounds though the watch (great for meetings or dinner dates). Phone finder – for all those times you misplace your phone and need someone else to call it in order to find it (you need this) Global Time Sync C self-adjusts to local time (think of jet setting and never having to set your watch ever again, no really!) Syncs with a variety of applicati
The OFFICIAL GMT-Master II 16710 - 3186 Owners Club!
Hi all,I'm proud to be an owner of a 16710 - 3186. Some argue they would prefer the more reliable 3185 movement. Others say they wouldnt pay a premium. Nobody really knows how many 16710's were fitted with the 3186 caliber as Rolex doesn't release production numbers. I'm not an expert, but my advice would be to hold on to these if you have one. The last 10 years have proven this is a collectible timepiece, and only going to raise in value!I've read that this combo was introduced as early as serial numbers starting with Z6xx. Let's compose our own database. I'm curious to know:- The letter and as much of the serial number you feel comfortable sharing.- Is the 2 in GMT-Master a Roman numeral/stick/rectangular?- Country of origin. - Is your original warranty a credit card?So to all owner's of the 16710 - 3186, past and present, post your pictures! Here is my M3xx/rectangular/US/Credit card on my newly acquired jubilee. Cheers!
AD Sales Rep Told Me This Was Fake...
I've noticed recently there's been a few threads inquiring about how to verify and authenticate a watch. It got me thinking about something that happened to me on Long Island about 4 years ago.My dad was considering selling a vintage Rolex Day-date 1803 and I was going to help him do a little research and leg work. We had no idea what it was worth and I wasn't a member on the forum yet (not that you're allowed to ask), but point being, I had nowhere to turn. The closest Rolex AD was Tourneau in Huntington at the Walt Whitman Mall.I called in advance and brought the watch in. The sales rep straight up embarrassed me, or at least tried to. He looked at the watch, and immediately blew me off saying it was fake. I told him I seriously doubt that, and he literally proceed to ignore me. I said Excuse me! is there a watchmaker here who can verify what you're saying? He seemed pissed that I even asked, but still he went in the back and chat with the watch maker for a couple minutes. He
