Pairs Well With: Anstead Oceanis
We were super excited about the Anstead Oceanis kickstarter that happened a few months ago. We thought; finally, someone is using kickstarter to fund a watch that isn't a piece of tech, but rather a well-designed and affordable watch with styling we can get behind. The Oceanis is a bit vintage, a bit tactical and all around masculine and rugged. The technical dial is balanced beautifully by the steel bezel that sports a fierce, but practical toothed edge. Best of all, it's an auto powered by a Seiko NH36a movement that costs about $400. It goes without saying that we'll be giving it the w&w review treatment soon enough, but we thought that the look of this watch beckoned for a PWW as well. So, we tasked Mr. Dexter Austria with pairing the Anstead Oceanis with an outfit of similar inspiration. Military influence is at the core of each piece in one-way or another, and the outfit comes together to be handsome and a touch edgy.1. Anstead Oceanis2. Rolltop in Olive Waxed Twill by Archiva
Help with pricing???
Hello everyone! I am new to world of fine watches. I currently own a few different models of Tissot's and am looking to purchase my first Omega. I have been looking at Ben Bridge jewlers and am interested in the Mid size Aqua Terra. They are asking 2,900 for it. Is this an exceptable price? Thanks for any help
Finally, a second watch (the process)
I purchased a white Explorer II (16570) back in 2010. It's a watch I love and wear daily. I finally got an itch (and the means) to add a second watch to my collection. After doing some preliminary research simply based on aesthetics and a very general sense of pricing, I had it narrowed down to AP Royal Oak, VC Overseas, IWC Portuguese 7 days or Habring2 Doppel 3.I then researched the specific models more closely. I quickly found that the AP and VC models I was interested in were above my budget (not altogether unexpected). I quickly realized the IWC 7 days that I really wanted was the rose gold with grey dial; again, above my budget. That left me with the Doppel 3. It fit my budget and I liked the grey dial model. BUT, the only place I could source one was not expecting a grey Doppel 3 until May 2016. I was extremely close to putting a deposit down on it and waiting it out, but I decided to hit the non-Rolex sales forum one last time to see if I could find anything that caught my eye
BLNR Retail?
Should I be happy with paying MSRP on a BLNR? I was between a yacht-master (ss Rodium) and the GMTII BLNR. I see the YM's for a good bit less than MSRP(unworn at non AD) but BLNR is at MSRP(at AD).
GMT2 Date Change Question
So... I tried searching and couldn't find an answer.. When setting the date on my BLNR it would change dates when I advance the hour hand pass 11pm instead of 12pm.. It only does it if my minute hand is past 30.. if the minute hand is before 30 it will change dates after I pass 12pm. Is this normal?
