Bracelet for my ROO 15307
Hey everyone, I'm trying to find a bracelet for my ROO Diver, does anyone know where I can get one, other than buying new from AP? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Speedmaster + Provenance = BIG $$$!!!!
I'm following this auction for a pre-moon Speedmaster that appears to have an interesting history. Absolutly amazing what provenance will do to the value of a watch! The current bid of $7100, is more than twice the going price, assuming it's a caliber 321 movement (no movement pictures and the time of purchase could make it a late 321 or an early 861) How high will it go? As I type, the auction doesn't end for another 24 hours!Auction link:cgi.ebay/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:ITThe seller states that she is the wife of co-author of: Dark Waters:An Insider's Account of the NR-1:The Cold War's UndercoverNuclear Sub: An Insider's Account of the NR-1 The Cold War's Undercover Nuclear SubA former crewmember and a journalist join forces to tell the absorbing tale of the deepest secret weapon in the U.S. Navy's submarine force, the deep-diving nuclear submarine NR-1. A brainchild of the brilliant and controlling Admiral Rickover, even her construction involved a host of technical problems.
Heartbreak with SD43
So after waiting 6 months to get my hands on my first new Rolex (normally a vintage Sub guy) it finally arrived, a brand spanking new SD43. After trying every micro adjustment and combination of number of link etc, I have come to the decision that it's just not comfortable for me. It is a seriously beautiful watch, but for my 7 inch wrist it just seems too heavy and not ideal for the daily watch that I was hoping for. I guess its back to Vintage for me. Sometimes you gotta know when to fold em.
116520 Daytona dial differences
A while back I noticed that there are 2 different dials on the current 116520’s. I had just bought a new black faced one and saw someone else’s pictures of his. The difference seemed minor (and it probably is for most people) but I had to find out in real life. Tim (train-time) had noticed it as well and with his help I managed to trace a few other black faced Daytona’s to do some comparison. side by side.jpgSo what are the differences? There are 3:1)Ticks at the 27 and 28 positions (single tick vs double tick)2)The shine of the sub dials3)The boldness of the fonts on the sub dialsSingleclose up 1 tick 2.jpg Doubleclose up 2 tick 2.jpgThe shine of the sub dials on the double tick is much more profound. It is hard to capture in a picture, but from a distance it is really noticeable. It gives a the two versions a different look.Less shine1 tick shine.jpg More shine2 tick shine.jpgThe fonts used on the double tick is more profound. As a result it makes the print more rea
Lapis Lazuli Dial
Anyone think they will re-make this dial in the future? It's a beautiful blue dial
