Editorial: Personal Thoughts On The Phillips Start-Stop-Reset Steel Chronographs Sale
The art of the thematic watch sale is a delicate one, indeed. In the modern era, the benchmark by which all other thematic sales are measured is that of the Christie's-under-Aurel-Bacs Lesson One: Daytona sale, where 50 watches sold, 50 records were set, and the final sale brought in a mind-blowing four times the high estimate. I was in the audience, and the room was really, truly electric – and not just electric for a watch auction, which as you may know, means very little, but like, actually exciting. This sale was crazy, and the results were mind-blowing – the reverberations of which we still feel today in the current Daytona market, two and a half years later. Since then, we've seen other thematic sales both by Christie's – Patek 175 and Speedmaster NYC, and another by Bacs in the Glamorous Day-Date sale at his new home, Phillips – but none seemed to capture the same excitement with watch fans, or bidders. New Addition, and new shoes
Hello Everyone!It has been a while since I last posted on this forum, but recently I found a good reason to do so: I bought another Royal Oak from DavidSW. This time it was an Offshore, Navy. What can I say, an AMAZING transaction as always, and a spectacular piece!And, having APSC so close to where I live, it just made it so much easier for me to almost immediately get new shoes for my new ROO. BTW, Ms, Lindsay Peterson (After Sales) and Kevin (Watchmaker), at APSC, were incredibly welcoming / friendly / professional. They helped me with the parts department in sourcing the the navy blue hornback strap. It is always a treat to stop by their offices! As much as like the rubber strap, the blue hornback looks just at home on my RO; at least to me. Below, please find some pics. I really like this combo. Thanks!

Best Deal on Speedmaster Pro
My AD (online) lied to me and told me they had a Speedy pro in stock, only to find out it's on backorder after I ordered it. Got a decent deal at $2.5K new, but was wondering if any of you knew either a used one (excellent+ shape) or new one (legit gray market is ok) that could beat that, and has it in stock. Appreciate any help.Jason
