Need help
Hey guys I'm thinking of upgrading to the AP ROO 26400SO Or the 26401 in rose gold old dial. I'm a one watch guy and I assume the RG44 Would be hard to wear as a daily. Also considering the daydate40. For about the same price I could have a solid gold Rolex or a stainless steel offshore. I love the design on AP a tad bit more than the daydate. Any input would be appreciated 😅
Just got my seamaster back.
Just had my seamaster 007 40th returned from omega service uk.Was very suprised how many parts were replaced as part of the service.New hands , crown, helium escape valve , cogs, seals etcThey returned it with all the original parts and new warranty. It looks as good as new.Just 1 question.Whey do the hands need replacing.
Leather Straps?
I'm thinking about picking up a Speedmaster, but LOVE the leather straps, any ideas on where to pick those up or a suggested aftermarket guy?
comparing two icons
I just had a recent INCOMING, and I thought I would share some thoughts with you on my two Pateks: the 5712 1a and the 5167a.1. The 5712 has more wrist presence, the wider lugs and the tapering of the bracelet makes the watch wear bigger than it really is. The 5167 feels way more sporty and nimble. It is the perfect sports watch in that you don't know that you are wearing it compared to some of the monster watches that have a lot of heft. For this reason it the perfect activity watch as it less likely to get caught on things. Plus the rubber will make it clean up easier. 2. The 5712 does not make as much noise as the 5167. Not hearing the whizz makes me think, are you still working?! However it does take some time to adjust to the 5167 noise, if I was not a member on this forum, I would have been concerned! Now the noise is like an old friend. 3. The 5712 feels more dressy. However both have slim profiles that will easily fit under a dress shirt cuff. Don't get me wrong,
Second Thoughts About Buying My First Rolex
I’m new here and have received many helpful recommendations regarding the selection & purchase of my first Rolex. Upon further reflection, I’m beginning to wonder if the resources could be put to better use as the tribal elders have questioned my recent foray into fine watches. As a working man, I was thinking of maybe an extended life insurance plan in the event that I am disabled at work or perhaps adding to our children’s college education fund. In some ways, I feel that I am being selfish in gravitating towards a Rolex or any other expensive wristwatch. While a nice Seiko will never be a Rolex, it seems that most people don’t notice or care what kind of wrist watch someone else is wearing as one’s character and integrity should always come first.
