Stallone Brandishes PVD Panerai Luminor Marina Watch In New Rambo Movie
I am pretty happy that the new Rambo movie was as watch-centric as it was. Through the intensely blood-bathed action fest are numerous shots of watches on the characters' wrists. Sylvester Stallone's John Rambo adorns an interesting Panerai watch. It has been a Hollywood tradition for sometime that popular movie characters have a watch fitting their nature and status. We know of the James Bond Omegas and the Terminator has an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak specially made for Schwarzenegger that is worn proudly. Rambo prefers the popular and stylish vintage looks of Italian Panerai watches. It is a well known fact that "Sly" Stallone is a big Panerai fan. Rumored to own hundreds of the cult-loved watches, Panerai has even made custom models just for Stallone. One such model has Stallone's autograph engraved on the back and the moniker "SLYTECH" on the face. Watch companies are wonderful in that regard; if you have enough leverage and money, they will make any manner of custom model for you.
Affordable Vintage: Hamilton Art Decos
And now for something completely different. For anyone who has read any of my articles here, or seen my feed on Instagram, it's plain to see that I favor mostly divers, chronographs and other watches from the 1950's through the 1970's. However, what first drew me to vintage watches were the incredible Art Deco and Machine Age designs of the 1930'spanies like Waltham, Elgin, Gruen, Bulova and Hamilton produced an amazing array of stunningly designed watches. The cases ranged from simple Streamline to intricately engraved and enameled designs, to the dramatic stepped cases that took their styling cues from the skyscrapers in big cities like New York and Chicago. I started out my WIS journey collecting these beautiful creations from the 1930's, and really enjoyed them. However, as much as I love the look and style of these, they are quite small and they are far more fragile than watches from the 1950's on. I found that as my tastes changed as I grew as a collector, I slowly stopped wearing
leather strap fitting questions on ROC 26320
hi! im a new user to this forum, longtime watch enthusiast...i just got mi first AP ROC in rose gold, absolutely love this watch, however i have a few questions, does anybody know how to fit it properly? right now the leather strap is too tight in one hole, and too loose in the other, is there a way to adjust this without having to change for a long/short strap?thanks!
AP ceramic
I have read an article saying that the white ceramic on the diver is 1850 vickers, while the black is 1350, don't speak to me but they say the white is 9 times harder than steel, I find that a little hard to believe, what do you think?I read post of some owners that chip their bezels without big shocks, if it was so hard would it chip?Have read posts of ceramic cases breaking when falling on tile floor, but that was Panerai, I suppose the ceramic they use is not the same quality as AP, I know that when I go bike riding I don't take it as if I fall and it hits something it will surely break, steel bends ceramic not, I wanted a ceramic watch in part because of it being very hard to scratch, has anyone here chipped or scratched a bezel or case in ceramic from AP?Thanks guys
Been too long since my last ... INCOMING!!!!
I was thinking Daytona as my next acquisition but haven't even been able to see / try on a Daytona in the flesh, let alone purchase at MSRP.... But I did have the (surprise) opportunity to grab something else I liked, at retail, that I didn't think I'd be able to get either..... Whaddya think is in the Jersey Rock's Box?
